I got this one but it's available cheaper on their website as other forum members found.

https://www.amazon.com/LFOTPP-Naviga...t/dp/B07MPFFF4

honestly they're all likely made by the same company in China

There aren't that many reviews on Amazon. That makes me somewhat worry, but I do want to get one to protect the screen. How do you like it so far?

They moved things around, but this is the 2nd one linked earlier in this thread: https://www.amazon.com/LFOTPP-Naviga...dp/B07MPFFF4B/

I would skip this one (LFOTPP) for now. I've tried two from them (they replaced the first for free) and they've now refunded me the entire purchase. It works well for the parts that work, but their product packaging is careless and damages a corner (on both the same way!) of the protector which then in turn doesn't adhere at that corner. It's a shame, as except for that, it's quite good. If they were to solve the packaging problem, consider that it doesn't help with fingerprints (same as stock) and it is slightly more reflective than without, but other than those two cautions (and the defective corners) it's great.

I bought this:

https://www.aliexpress.com/item/3299...3b694c4dIgzzLk

(it's the right hand drive version because I'm in the UK). I found no issues with it .. I broke the first one trying to fit it and they sent me another without charge which I thought was pretty decent of them. It shipped from Singapore.

Definitely more reflective than the stock screen, but I like the protection as a scratch would drive me nuts.

That's the one I bought and very happy with it. It's nicely packaged when you receive it.

Ouch, it costs $30. If it is good, then I guess it is ok. The screen on my old car is all scratched up, and It bothers me.

What about the gauges? Did you get a screen protector for that?

Ditto. Does not leave a lot of finger prints on the screen either. Did not buy the one for the instrument cluster. Got it primarily to keep from scratching the OEM screen.

I have one installed for the live cockpit display as well, but only because another member threw it into the shipping box on a deal for another part. It's fine, a little more reflective than without, but I still don't understand why do it at all (unless it's free and you have nothing better to do :-) — that display is not touch, you would never touch it or scratch it.

My 2019 X5 (Jan. 2019 delivery) has an OEM fully transparent screen like cover on the navigation screen.

I never even noticed it for first few weeks; I see no reason to remove it as it is completely unobtrusive.

So anyone with a new order, ask your dealer to not remove it!

Hm, that's interesting. Your dealer might have given you a silent gift. Mine certainly didn't come with an "OEM protector" — what is the BMW part number for that anyways :-P

EDIT: oh, I get it now, you mean the factory manufacture-time protective plastic? Hm, still interesting if it is that effective, although those usually are soft and sacrificially scratch easy.

No, I didn't get any others. The one screen protector did the job. It's super easy to keep clean. I kept the original plastic protector Film when the car was first delivered until this screen protector came in. I'm very happy with it.

I should have read this post earlier

I just installed one and while it looks good and fits perfectly, there is a damage at the lower edge that prevented it to fully sit on the screen. Only the sticky side has plastic protection. I'm returning for a replacement and will try again.

The replacement came without edge defect and installed okay. The right side height is about a mm off compared to left (or compared to the screen) but not quite noticeable.

Not sure if related but gesture control, especially volume control, is hit and miss this time. Anybody know where gesture control sensor is located? Thanks!

I believe they're actually cameras over the rear view mirror from what I've read.

Thanks. I searched this as well from the g05 tech manuals posted in this forum, see snapshots. So, my issue is most probably unrelated to the protector.

The US$30 one or the other one for US$18?
