New Owner (RR Sport HSE to X5 M Sport)
My X5 finally came in last week. I took it as is (in white plastic) to a detailer for ceramic so I just got it two days ago.
Background: I went from a Maxima to an Infinity M37 to a 2014 E350, to 2016 Range Rover Sport HSE to an X5. Here are my thoughts: When I picked up my RRS, I marveled at the beauty and quality of the interior, commanding view of the road, etc, etc. It was awesome, but not as smooth as a luxury sedan. It was an amazing higher-end model, yet at 78,000 it had no adaptive cruise, no HUD, ancient infotainment, low res cameras, etc, etc. I know that to some people an X5 may seem like a step back, but they would be wrong! My X5 is easily the best car yet! Smoother, car-like ride (although smaller car-like mirrors). Quicker (5.3 vs 6.7? despite a similar 3.0 340HP engine). For low 70's, I got a custom-ordered technological marvel that has all the toys and even parks itself. I can configure everything! Your garage door scratches your tailgate if you forget to close, it? - just adjust the tailgate opening hight. Parking sensors are too loud? - just go to settings and adjust that volume. I drive like an old man so I can't compare the driving dynamics, but the ride definitely seems more refined. Pretty happy with it so far. Thanks everyone for your advise during the research and purchasing phase. I made the right decision and saved a lot thanks to this forum |

After decades of German vehicles, I had a RR Sport for 7 long months of hell. I bought into the “ultimate luxury” propaganda RR has carefully constructed in the media. Had to flip it for a loss because it was a chronic problem. British vehicles are two steps back in quality and technology. Congrats on the new X5. It’s THE luxury SUV of the new breed from Europe.

We cross shopped the RRS HSE with the X5. Love the looks. Not a big fan of all the gloss black infortainment that would not have bothered me. It was the power. It is heavy and it felt heavy. We were up to 96 without a V8. Saw a review that said a lot of good things about the RRS but said you should get the X5 because you get more for 10k less. We bought the X5. I do miss ACC we have it on our other car and the leather dash. We should have ordered but overall despite those two things we have more than we need and the right is excellent even with 22 inch wheels. There is more space in the X5 also. Since the back seat will be down most of the time the reclining second row was a waste on us. At least the first 3 years of maintenance are covered and was always concerned about the RRS and maintenance.

True. Especially indoors at the dealership and at the detailer's garage. Maybe I just didn't have enough time with it to notice it in natural settings. Love this color. I upgraded to M Sport mainly to get it
