2019 X5 residual heat feature

I used to own 2016 X5 with residual heat feature. Now I purchased 2019 X5 50i and cannot find this feature in manual description. Do you, guys, know if it is still there, and how to activate it, or if you were looking for it as well and know the answer, I would really appreciate the info. The feature lets you use the residual heat for heating inside the car after you turned off the engine.

It is sort of still there in my car which has remote start.

If I hit the fan button with the car in stand by state while I am getting gas, the residual heat will work and I get that little display that shows it's on . As soon as I open the door it turns off, so I can't run into the store and leave the heat at rest running with it switched on directly as I used to do. I have set a "departure time" for 9 minutes out and it kept the heat running and was warm while I ran into the store, but that was more of a PITA than it was worth.

Now I just use the remote starter and set the time I am going to leave from the app, it seems to work the best for my needs, except when I am filing up (I'm in NJ where you can't pump your own), then it works just as previous BMW models with REST because I don't open the door and put it into idle state.

Read the section on Stationary Climate Control for specifics. the REST feature works different from before, but it's still there.

Thank you. I used to do the same thing as with 2016 X5, and it would start blowing, but as soon as I opened the door, just like you said, it goes down.

Yeah, it's a lot more complicated, but I also think some parts of it are improved. The section in the manual is a little hard to understand (once you find it) unless you really think about it and break down all the "BMW-speak" phrases.
