I don’t know what software version you are on, but the update fixed a lot of issues I was having with iDrive 7, worth leaving the car there for the day in my opinion. |

You do realize that some of us are old enough to have spent the vast majority of our driving life driving without TPM.
If you checked the tire pressures manually (oh the humanity), and continue to pay close attention, then yes, it's ok to drive the car still. If I was me (and I am) I would try resetting the TPM before taking it to the dealer.

Not for nothing but my 2015 had roughly 15-20 TPM errors and my 2018 X5's has had about 4. All they needed was a reset but still is a PITA. Dealer says they cannot duplicate or resolve. I figured it is just part of the joy of being an X5 owner

I’m also experiencing the same issue on my a-week-old G06. I tried to reset TPM in iDrive and it didn’t work. It will just come back after driving for a bit. Pretty sure no issues with the tires physically (and I checked) because I have had her for just one week literally. What is the solution to this? I don’t plan to bring this back to the BMW service shop just for this, it is just silly.

When I took delivery of my special order 2020 X7 iDrive was reporting that I had totally different tires than what were actually installed on the car. The TPM settings that display the tire pressure readings showed the correct tire pressure for the tires that were installed but not the correct tire size.
The tire size that iDrive was reporting showed that I had 22 inch tires installed. The 22 inch tires have significantly different tire pressure recommendations than the 21 inch tires that I actually have installed. The 22 inch tires require about 10 to 15 psi more pressure than the 21 inch tires I have installed. However, the system didn't give me any error messages about my tire pressure being low. Once I changed the tire size to the correct tire size it performed the TPM reset calibration. However, I should have been getting TPM messages from day one when I took delivery. I drove the car for over 3 months before I discovered the tire size discrepancy. Very buggy software indeed. I'm wondering if it would have ever given me a warning even if I had a flat tire. But every time I checked the tire pressure all four wheels were green. I'm still on the same software version I had when I picked up the vehicle. 07/2019.59. |

For the rest, it would be interesting to learn about the system's algorithm, but I suspect there is a strong bias to eliminate "false" positives and there is plenty of pressure latitude. I suspect the prime purpose of the system is safety rather than proper tire wear and associated drivability and cost issues when it isn't.

Try rebooting iDrive by pressing and holding in the volume button for 25 to 30 seconds until the screen goes black. iDrive will reboot and that might fix the problem.
