For me problem is that if you start with such wrinkles on a new car, after some time, leather will get more wrinkles from daily use and probably the seats will look like they have been used for years...old and wrinkled LoL

Maybe this is a problem linked to the new seat supplier?
Correct. Good to wait and see.

Like you say, if it would be 'by design', then I wonder why the front seats don't have the new 'comfortable design'... since hey, that's the seat I would like to be the most comfortable of all

The wrinkles look worse in pictures than IRL, imo...

I think the extended leather look better.

I looked at some in dealerships and there are slight wrinkles, nothing like the pics posted.

If I did get one like the pics I would pass.

The extended leather I saw would be fine with me.

Agree with this. These pictures look really bad, on the lot the ones I've seen (at least with upgraded leather) don't seem nearly as pronounced.

Even in my own new X5 they look better in person than in pics. Somebody on another thread asked for pics of black merino and I took some but they look like crap in the pics, and very good IRL, so I”m not posting them.

Come on guys, this is the first year production!!! We all know they gonna have flaws here and there. I’m sure bmw will fix this in the next few years. So took a lease on another car first, if you can’t deal with those “first year flaws”.......

Yes, V8LIFE, if this indeed is a "first year flaw". As you can see, many here are claiming that the wrinkles are intentional, and/or that the seat manufacturers are using "gathering" stitching techniques to deliberately cause the wrinkles.

As has been shown, clearly that is not the case, with "gathering", but no BMW official has yet to acknowledge this is an actual defect, "first year flaw" or not.

Actual "gathering" methods:

I went and drove another one today and the wrinkles I saw in person are just as bad in the pictures. I mentioned that to the salesperson and he just kind of laughed and sarcastically said I'm sure BMW is worried about it. People will keep buying them. The dealership near us doesn't have anything coming in close to what we are wanting so trying to decide if we are going to build or go another route.

I saw only one g05 and the seats are way more comfortable than f15 and I didnt notice any wrinkles. I agree some of the pics look pretty bad but not sure how prevalent the problem is.

Wrinkles stink but the leather color looks good here, and the pattern is growing on me.

Love my leather! Soft like an 87 year old ladies ass. To all you complainers, you’re missing out on old lady ass.
