Nice to hear since we're getting the Luxury extended mahreenno leather/massage/vent.

What part of Texas? Fredericksburg country boy here.

Also, have you tried the A/C? How is it?
Midland unfortunately and the seats are ventilated not AC but work as well as you'd expect

I added ventilated seat to my build for $500 CAD, just cause my family and friends telling me how awesome they are in general. But, seems like BMW ventilated seats are not so great.

Is it worth to call my dealer to take that out or should I just have it for the hack of it? I don't care so much about $500 but if it makes the seat stiffer, I am thinking it's better to take it out. Any thoughts?
They don't blow conditioned air from the A/C unit - just regular air via a fan. Also our kids have filled our perforations up with ground Oreos, dirt, goldfish, French fries, milkshakes, etc. all that stuff you swear you won't let your kids touch in your new car but you eventually break down. Dirt from "regular use" gets in there too, no matter how many times you clean/detail.

I guess with no kids and dark seats it might be worth it.

I would not get them again.

No. Only the ventilated seats are perforated. That's exactly why I didn't opt for them -- I didn't want to deal with the accumulation of dirt, particularly since mine are Ivory White.

Give the seat a hard 'pat' open palmed and it will clean out any small particles that get stuck or get a Dyson vacuum, they work wonders on seats, carpet etc

I’m new to vented seats, I understand BMW doesn’t use AC air, just cabin air which is what I would want. I would worry about cold air blowing into a seat after sitting out in the sun, the dew point inside the seat would likely be high enough to cause condensation depending on how cold and how fast conditioned air is introduced?

Interesting and valid point.. when I was test driving Lexus, several models had actual a/c flowing through the seats. It felt nice, real nice (read in Cousin Eddie's voice). But yeah I could see how always shutting off the car with the a/c air flowing in the seats could cause it to condense and stank up the car. I've got an odd habit of turning off the compressor when I am half a mile from my destination, just to clear out the cold/dry air from the system. I like to think it saves me from stank car over the long run!

Really? I'm not expert but BMW website says that the leather is perforated either way. If you have BMW comfort seat with Vernasca leather, would you mind confirming your leather doesn't have perforations?

- Standard sport seats in Vernasca = perforations in the center leather panel backrest and alternating perforation/solid down center strip of backrest and seat
- Multi contour seats in Vernasca = perforations in the center leather panel backrest and alternating perforations/solid down the center strip of backrest and seat - see attached photo below
- Luxury seating in Vernasca = multi contour seats with perforations for ventilation in backrest and seat

- Multi contour seats in Extended Merino = patterned stitched Merino multi contour seats
- Luxury seating in Extended Merino = patterned stitched Merino with perforations for ventilation

If you have Vernasca with multi-contour (not luxury) then there are alternating patterns of perforations and solid down the center of the seat. It's serves no function except design.

- Standard sport seats in Sensatec or Vernasca = no perforations

As your descriptions and photo show, there are perforations in Vernsaca multi-contour, they are just for show not blow.

Perforations on the back seats too, mine appears to have perforations.

Close-up of these seats do worry me. Especially the maintenance (keeping it clean) and that creases that form between each perforation.

BMW seating are pretty resilient and rarely crease. The creases in the photo are just the grain of the leather.

They absolutely crease, I had a rather large gentleman sit on the edge of my Veransca X3 M40i seat and the like never went away. It bothered me every time I got into the car

Got extended coffee merino with luxury seats mostly for the massage seats, but I would have chosen ventilation too if it was an independent option. Definitely annoying that the seats aren’t cooled after driving multiple American built rent vehicles that have it and have enjoyed that feature. Also had a car with cooled seats and in the beginning they were great but cooling functionality degraded over time. I assume air flow became obstructed by cushioning molding to my body and blocking airflow as it was mashed in by my body,.

In short, in a car, I have experienced the seat cooling off before cabin reached desired cooling temperature and that was amazing! Hope I will own a car like that again one day!

But without unlimited money ... comprises have to be made and I have to accept ventilated seats to get that 12 inch display and other technologies that the x5 has.... so don’t regret my luxury seats with ventilation.....

Sorry, don't have Vernasca, but here are a couple of photos of my non-perforated Ivory White Merino comfort seats:

I have a Miele 'Twist' upright vacuum cleaner (yeah, German on that one too) and the hose suction will suck the chrome off a door knob. A good slap on the old bottom here and there, a good vacuum cleaner and you're good to go. A local wash/detail shop has vacuums that have incredible suction too.

I don't foresee a problem with my ventilated seats.

It's my understanding that all or perhaps most manufacturers design ventilated seats with small fans behind them that pull cabin air thru the perforations, sucking body heat off, not inject A/C air into them. At least my Lexus works that way.
