Utility vs Aesthetics of optional Roof Rails on G06

I have just placed an M50i X6 on order.
Very confused with what roof rails would do to the sporty side profile of the X6, as I haven't seen one in real life.
Can anyone with Roof rails post pics or experience please ?
I doubt i will ever be loading anything on the roof ever but I've been told that roof rails can only be installed at factory and essential for resale
Thanks
Ash

Here's a few pics I have from when I was considering roof rails.

I didn't know they could only be factory fitted - that seems like an odd choice considering you can retrofit them on almost every other BMW

Why would they be essential for resale?

When I look at new & used G06's being sold at dealers in the UK, I've not yet seen a single one with roof rails - an option that rare couldn't be essential for resale as it seems no one really wants it.

I think at resale its a practical option that people traditionally expect in a suv here. No big deal .
Looking at the pics ....I will probably remove them from my order as they are distorting the beautiful silhouette of the X6.
My car is in Tanzanite blue so they will be less subtle

I ordered them on my 2021 X6MC. I use a roof box for trips and I don't think they take anything away from the look. These are very low profile compared to my E71 X6M which I had them as well. Retrofitting these is a PIA. You need to remove the headliner. If you keep looking and obsess over them you will keep noticing them, otherwise over time they will just blend in and you will hardly even know they are there.I don't like the Thule option since it involves clamping to the window gutters and the chance of paint damage is not appealing to me. Just my opinion. As for re-sale, they probably wouldn't even care or know if they were there or special order. In any event I think it's a bonus. Like the poster said above it is a SUV so they wouldn't be out of place IMO. To each their own, they are a must for me. It's your decision so I wouldn't fret over what everyone else thinks, it's your vehicle.

I agree. They won't hurt at resale, they may even add to the desirability for someone that specifically wants them, due to the difficulty in retro-fitting.

I just don't think they could be essential for re-sale, as with so few cars having them, that would make around 99% of G06 X6's 'unsellable' . I don't think anyone needs to be worried about that.
