RIP AMG

So, I beat a Mercedes amg c63s today from a dig to 70mph.

Didn't know that was possible with the 40i.

Handled him fairly easily, had him good from the jump I glanced to the side and couldn't see him anymore. Looked over at about 65 and he was closing the gap a little, probably got his nose to my bumper by 70.

I'm amazed, tbh. Had to share. RIP AMG.

The c63s has a 0-60 in 3.8 sec, the X5 40i is 4.8 sec.

User error on the AMG driver or mechanical problem. Not normal…it's like saying you beat an X5M.

Also possible you were racing him and he wasn't racing you.

In no world will a 4.0 x5 "beat" a c63s.

We said ahead of time to 60, went to 70. He was aware of and agreed to the race at the stoplight….has to be user error. I have a tune but that shouldn't make a difference. Anyways, thought that it was an interesting outcome and wanted to share that in this very world that you reside in it happened. Again, had to be user error but none the less it happened.

Part of me thinks he was letting me get a head start but then he didn't have enough time left to blow me away before the next stoplight.

Possible causes...
1. You were the racing one and he was laughing.
2. He was racing with a re-badged.

I 100% agree I had no business being ahead of him….I assume he allowed me to get a head start.

But he was in it at the end….we spoke prior to and we agreed to 60mph.

It was early am, no cars on the road but us. Clear day dry road. But I get it that there are some people out there that don't do it or care for it. Under these circumstances-I'm not one of those people.

I don't care for people racing past me on the highway though, then I get a little old and crinkly too so I can almost relate.

Anyways, AMG owners, don't give us a head start in a short race.

Edit-also entirely possible he's laughing to himself right now because I think I won when he let me.

Yea, he didnt try bud.

I had a hard time with a C63s amg in my X6mc. I beat him, but he was right on my ass.

Unless he had a fake badge on a C300.

Fake badges abound this is true. He had a growl on the downshifts tho….

He didn't go 100% is where I'm at now….He was on my back passenger door at about 60ish and I know he didn't start until after I did. He let me…..and now I'm telling the world. Ha.

I think you need treatment for delusion. I had a GLC43AMG and NO way would my 40i beat it never mind a 63
