Door decals?

Has anyone actually installed the M sport door decals?

I was wondering how they looked in the wild, and if people think they would look good on a grey car. I keep feeling like the car needs something to break up the blocky way it looks from the side.

To the OP; Yes, I've purchased and installed both the door decals, as well as the rocker panel decals. Personally, I love them, and I like the way the set the car apart from all the others. They door stripes are 2-tone, with grey.... so they may blend in a little to the grey color of your car. The black will stand out though. I think it'll look great. Installation is easy, just make sure no part of the upper edge of the decal extends over the crease on the side of the car. Anything that extends over (even 1mm) will have a hard time adhering.

The rocker panel decals..... are a pain in the ass. They really don't fit the curvature of the rocker panels, and you absolutely will need to have a heat gun or hairdryer on hand to "massage" them into place..... especially up toward the front part.

Good luck!

So as NineFourteener pointed out, the rocker panel decals are a bit of a challenge to install; however, I got NineFourteener's advice before I installed them and it saved me some grief!

The rocker panel decals are a frozen black (a.k.a. Flat, and not Shiny). Note that I added the "M Performance Sticker", and then I had the entire front end of my X5 installed with paint protection film, along with the WHITE section of the rocker panels -- This way, the frozen black rocker panel decals remained flat (instead of shiny due to the PPF) and at the same time the PPF over the white part of the rocker panel also *protected/covered* the M Performance decal making it less likely to be scratched/damaged:

The BMW rocker panel decal appears to make the X5 "vertically slimmer".

Hi these are the ones Ive got as prefer them to the "Hockey stick 2020" graphics. Did you apply them wet and did you remove the rocker panel or just do it on the car please ? Any tips ?

I am deeply offended by your "hockey stick" comment.

I prefer to call mine the "gigantic crooked schlong" decal. It's much manlier.

Dry, and with a heat gun just to get the front wheel well (near the hole that's used to project the exterior carpet lighting) part of the decal to conform, and properly stick. The rest of the area towards the rear of the car was easy.

This is mine with rocker decal. I like it. subtle but adds just enough. Attempted to do it myself and failed miserably. Paid someone to do it second go around.

If you're worried about HP!!! You should have bought a X5M Comp. Stop showing shade, to each is their own.

I just had mine installed on our Riverside Blue X6M50i. I'm not sure I'm liking the light gray color at the top. While I was at it I painted the exhaust outlets with black Plastic dip paint.

Trust me on this one they have the same HP gain as Lloyds floor mats do for a Corvette.
