What motor? I believe you need to remove the opf for crackle and pops

What is it booked in for, exhaust work or some kind of tune? I haven't heard of any tune available for the completion. If your not happy with the sound from a Competition then have sympathy for us with ultra quiet M50’s

You need to remove OPF filter. If is not enough change exhaust or mid pipes. Or even down pipes.

There is a tune ( like DME tune ) that gives the car extended burble but you need to replace the above parts first.

Oh god I can’t stand those “burble” tunes. Not sure when making pop corn sounds or marbles rolling in a tin can turned into good exhaust tone.

^^ I had a same on my F80. Akra exhaust with magnaflow resonators. It is personal preference and I don't mind the pops at full throttle but not so much at 10mph decelerating. Then there are the kids that go the extreme to make everything from Hyundai sonatas to Bmw's sounding like gun shots going off.

It’s all about moto gp and F1. Those Motogp bikes sound amazing in person.

Do any vendors offer a tune yet? I would have figured DME but they're still showing the X6M 2019 - no 2020.

There is problem because of new sound restrictions (EU)..

Crackling and "shooting" from exhaust is blocked. Also sound lowered.

- I asked few people how to make it better. The crackling + shooting is set in software to add petrol in exhaust but ots blocked.. If you change it by some tuning company (which is not officialy approved at this moment and would be worse) they will delete it with new soft updates during service.

The sound level.. idk how to increase but in EU its impossible "in official way". So sad.. my bmw g30 540i mperf sounds much better than any new bmw I heard, I hope M gonna be better :-( (but definitively not louder mb deeper)

here is some article about it : https://jalopnik.com/european-noise-...ker-1836817816

Btw if somebody from EU has any advices I would go for it after delivery of mine :-)

I'm
Working on it for my 2020 x5M comp Aussie delivered car

Basically I'm going to start with removing the opf and tuning out the regen only.

Then from there I'll go for a stage 1 for some power but I'm confident that the opf removal and leaving everything else in place will
Be the solution. The only ecu change will be to tune out the regen of the opf

Keep you posted.

Btw my tuner is based Germany and has done it many times already with great results

Something to consider.... looks like BMW isn’t messing around anymore. Bmw has always been able to detect tunes no matter what tuners claims but now they are automatically looking/flagging all cars coming in for work.

Does this refer to the Dinan stage tunes as well? If i get a 2021 X5, I want the Dinan tune, not so much for more horsepower, but to remove the top speed limiter.

Not sure about ECU tune, but RaceChip already have it available since April or May.
I will see if my local customer will lend me his to do dyno pulls and I'll report back.

I guess you don't mind the loss of the powertrain warranty?

No loss because no flash and I am good with my dealer, they installed it. We disable it and put in the blank plug before all service...
