That's weird. I'm a Verizon customer but was able to sign up on the ATT website. You don't need to be an ATT mobile user to activate the WiFi hotspot.

BMW says I have service for three years. AT&T says 90 days and then wants me to join a plan. What gives?

Does anyone still have this issue? I just got a 2021 5 series and are facing the same issue after I activated outside the car via the website...

Maybe you have to activate it inside the car via the hotspot to get it link correctly? I saw the vin of the car on the att website are just a bunch of 9s as placeholder...
