In Ontario, anyway, dealers always throw them on the car as soon as the car hits the lot. They originally started doing it to deter thieves from breaking into the lot and stealing a bunch of wheels... as if it would really stop them. They continue to do it because they take a set of lugs they likely spend about $20 dealer cost for and then charge everyone a non-negotiable $100 fee as part of the purchase price. So it is a way to pad their profits while still “discounting” the new car.
I got really annoyed when I was dealing with dealerships that would charge the $100 fee in the used cars too, even though they were the same locking nuts that were sold with the car originally... |

Yeh, they're quite expensive, but they honestly do feel solid. I went for the black as I thought it would break up the spokes on the wheel nicely, although I now wonder if Grey would have been better! lol
Anyways I do recommend them. NOTE: I have no affiliation to the company! No affiliate links, no personal gain etc at all! |

See what the dealer provides you first and decide if you need anything extra from there - also depends on how much security you need in your area. I'm in London UK, so the more security the better!! Above all else, I sleep easier at night! lol |
