F85 side mirrors on a G05?

Does anyone know if the F85 side mirror cover would fit on a G05 mirror as a replacement? If not then would the actual whole assembly fit the G05 without hampering the features that the stock oem mirrors come with and basically replicating them?

It will as long as you change the outer ring too.

But, I like the F97 X3M better since it have some line on the cover.
Here is the picture on my customer's X7 that I've done.

Do you have to change the ring for the x3m mirrors too?

Those look nice. Do you sell them and if yes then how much for the set along with the ring? Easy DIY? Available in CF/Carbon Black?

Replied to your PM.
It is easy DIY. Same as on F15/F16 X5/X6.

Just installed the CF aftermarket f97 caps on my wing mirrors. No ring replacement needed and install took a total of 20 minutes. Paid $160 for the pair from eBay and looks and feels exactly like OEM quality and fits like a glove. Seller located in CA.

I am not sure if I like CF caps on my carbon black though. Maybe gloss black is a better option and would look better with a carbon black? I mean I like them and they're not that of a pop out carbon fiber friend if you look at it from the front of the car so I am confused.

Attached are some pictures for you all to give some feedback on whether I should stick to cf or get gloss black?

I think it will looks better when you also replace the ring, because it will looks unfinished at the mirror glass side.

The aftermarket mirrors fit the OEM ring, they look like OEM from the mirror side.

How can they look OEM from the mirror side if you don't replace the ring and just the cap/cover?

I think just the CF cap is good enough for me. The black ring blends in with the black botton part as well so it looks like 1 piece. Honestly, I didn't even realize the difference until you pointed it out and I am 100% sure that 95% of folks that see this won't point out the ring.

My aftermarket covers aren't designed like that - on mine, they are 'finished' on both sides, and designed to be fitted specifically with the standard ring. You could not fit the M ring to my mirrors even if you wanted to; they are shaped for the standard ring.

Yes, I know the aftermarket mirror cover won't fit the M-ring, and that's why I said its not OEM-look a like. I think the aftermarket cover has a bad design from the mirror glass side. And $160 Is not far away from what the 4 pieces OEM F85 X5 M/F95 X5 M costs.

I understand - no they don't look like the OEM M mirrors from the inside. I meant they look complete with the OEM ring like the normal mirror.

I prefer the way the aftermarket ones do it - looks sharper on the pointy bit.

I also wanted the exact same ones that he has - which is basically more pointy and straight than the one's I found and bought which are blunt at the tip and the "horn" in pointing inwards rather than straight. The link from where he bought his has expired or not selling anymore and the only ones that come up on eBay in USA are the ones I bought.

Try the link above - still live. Although I do not know if they will fit a LHD car

Use RealOEM https://www.realoem.com/bmw/enUS/select

You can look up part numbers for any car, any model, any country made upto mid 2019 currently (it gets updated a few times a year so newer cars will appear soon)
