I end up staring at the civic ARGQ only to sort my cognitive dissonance on how anyone with any sort of aesthetic taste could call it a good looking car, but this... this is somehow different.
I fancy this souped up "GTS" version as a much more interesting development than the German's typically motorsport conservative bolted on big arse wing on risers + huge front lip + canards treatment. It's very Japanese (someone here nailed it with the Gundam inference) and I love it. Performance-wise, I don't doubt it's going to be an absolute missile. Give me one in dark gray, pls.

I usually end up staring at the random civic ARGQ sightings trying to sort out my cognitive dissonance on how anyone with any sense of style could find them good looking in any way, shape or form.
But this... this is different. Instead of your typically conservative German approach bolting on a big arse wing on adjustable risers + snow plow front lip + "GTS" or "RS" badge, Alfa took a page out of the Japanese playbook by adding on body lines and molding new angles into the overall aesthetic everywhere (someone earlier nailed it with the Gundam inference). I personally prefer this Lambo-ish approach and it makes sense - same country of origin. Give me one in dark gray without the massive depreciation, pls. P.S. Alfa really should update that projector lens headlight to a modernized matrix LED arrangement --> huge visual impact

I like it, but would also like the option for an aggressive spoiler in place of the wang

Actually, the Wing only appears in the GTAm, and not the GTA. The latter only comes with a CF spoiler.
But I agree-- it's a bit of an attention grabber. Wish they had spent less time on the exterior and more on the overall hp figure. No reason this could not have been 550+ hp. Last edited by mbiondo; 03-03-2020 at 10:48 AM.. |

Having driven the original QV, they'll need to fix the garbage drive by wire brakes and the garbage ZF 8 speed downshifting if not in Race mode.
Not feeling this look at all, it just looks massively misproportioned. |

looks terrible. If they're trying to go after the M3CS they dropped the ball.

Never got the Drive by Wire brakes. Seems like that would be aggravating in "stop & go" traffic.

Looks fine for its purpose. The only thing that bothers me is the multiple white clover triangles on the front fender. Reminds me of MB having their 3-point star logo on every front grill only to place a redundant one on the hood a few inches above. We don't need this kind of styling redundancy especially on expensive vehicles.

Aside from it being an auto?
In seriousness... It's the tuning of the zf8 that matters.

I've driven the regular Giulia QF and didn't have any issues with the transmission. Shifts weren't as fast as BMW's ZF8 tuning, but it was still a pretty good auto. Of course I would want a manual, but the Giulia is such a fantastic driving vehicle, honestly way ahead of its class in many areas, and of course lacking in others such as reliability.

Have an 8sp auto in my 958 GTS, so no, not really. But they should have released the QV with a manual in the US. Not really the point of the thread though.

I've driven a 2019 392 Charger. The ZF8 absolutely RIPS with the 392 and its glorious, I can only imagine how good it is with 707 horsepower in the Hellcat. |
