Hi,
I did ok the deal 2 days ago with one dealer to order 2020 X5 40i. they call me this morning and said BMW NA cancel all the 2020 allocations and push to 2021. But I don't want 2021 spec. soft close, acoustic glass,ect..are gone
so the other dealer call me and said they still have 2020 allocation and be able to build 2020. How do I know the second dealer will have 2020 build?

Is anyway I can find out from BMWNA?

No, BMWNA will just refer you to the dealer. Just take the allocation and order what you want (give the price is right), you have nothing to lose. Worst that can happen is that allocation gets cancelled. Good luck and let us know how it turns out.

It's all about production allocations or spots. I had some dealers tell me that 2020's were done a few weeks back. Another dealer had one of the last 2020 production spots and I got it. My build will be one of the last for the model year- week 30, July 19- 25. I confirmed this through bmwna and the bmw tracking online.

Proceed with the 2020 order, finalize your deal, get the paperwork signed and have them submit your order ASAP. Then just track your order online, genius, or your CA.

My 2020 G05 just went on the assembly line today per the online tracking (ordered the car on June 12). This was spot on with my original production date. Worst that could happen is your allocation gets canceled but perhaps your dealership has an allocation to squeeze you in.

Though a lot of people on this forum know what's being removed from the 21' models, the general population leans towards buying the new MY.
