I've recently placed an order for a new X5 xDrive 45e in the UK via my employer's company lease scheme. The dealer (Sytner BMW) have sent me a copy of the spec print out and given me an estimated date in December for delivery.

I'm an impatient kind of person and don't want to just sit around for 5 months wondering where things are up to.

What happens next? I see US customers have a tracking facility to keep updated on how their order is progressing, but what information will I get from BMW UK?

The UK has nothing really.
Other than hassling the dealer, you can use the bmw.co.uk Genius Live Chat (not available on mobile) to ask where the status is. I believe all you need is the order number.

I ordered my X6 in March then pretty much radio silence until mid June until I got an auto email telling me my build had startec. I called the dealer next day and he could give me the VIN and a rough delivery date of August...
I've used the Genius on line chat a few times to check progress on delivery but they don't seem to have much detail after it leaves the plant in the US.
Bottom line is your dealer will be the best point of call for updates...

I’m waiting for an M Sport in Carbon Black with the brown/black Vernasca leather with the following additions:

Technology Pack
Visibility Pack (non Laserlights)
Sun Protection Glass
Electrically Folding Towbar

So far I have a provisional delivery date in December but I'm told it could also be January 2021. Have you been given any dates yet?

I'm not 100% confident as they keep telling me it will be a MY2020 which I thought was replaced by MY2021 from July production.

I think Carbon Black is the best colour, looks amazing especially with the M Sport pack. I might be biased though as that's my colour

Get your order number from the dealer which should be on your paperwork and then just hound the online BMW Genius live chat. My 45e was due March this year and I was on it daily asking for a status update, and then multiple times a day when they said it was in the country as I was panicking about it getting stuck in Southampton. I luckily picked it up 4 days before lockdown

Are you getting the towbar for a caravan or trailer? If caravan, are you doing anything about the lack of wiring for fridge etc from the factory?

Nope, just general towing of trailers and horse boxes so wasn't aware of that limitation.

Dear Folks,

I am looking to get an X5 which is a dream car for me and it is going to be car of my life for next 10 years minimum.

Any one please advice how the dealer process to order the car with regards to my credit score - I have a experian credit score 860 and equifax with excellent - 505, bit nervous if I would get declined.

I work for NHS and earn 38K and our family income altogether 75k , I have a BMW with part exchange value £8000 which is going to be my deposit.

Is there anyone ordered recently 40i with good discount deal?

I just need Sunroof,22 inch wheel as an additional option.
