Who is getting base money factor?
I am in process of negotiating bmw lease. Not getting great quotes but I am willing to wait a few months.
I have engaged with 5 dealerships (1 Illinois, 2 nj, 1 ny and 1 pa). Not a single one will offer base money factor. Obviously with a large enough discount you can offset it. Highest discount offered is 8 percent. But the money factor is marked up by a half percent. Not a great market just now so I am likely holding off for a few months for 2021s to start showing up. Just curious what others are getting. Thx. |

From all accounts, the MF for the MY21s has not been released yet except for the 45e so they are just speculating on numbers if they are quoting you anything. I just told my CA what the base MF was and that would be what I was getting. He passed that along to the sales manager and that is what I was quoted. Times are a bit different now due to short supply but that should change in the coming months.

Went through broker. Although the 21 numbers are not out. I was guaranteed the buy rate on the money factor. So while I don't know what it will be exactly I know that whatever lowest rate is I will get that.

I was given these numbers as base:
BMW X5 36 12k/yr 0.00099 54% 7/25/2020 $500 inctv xDrive40 BMW X5 36 10k/yr 0.00099 55% 7/25/2020 $500 inctv xDrive40 Seems to be 2.38% APR. What numbers did you get with your offers?

I’ve never paid above base on any deal and I never will. Do not do it. Ask them what you are receiving for the money factor markup? What are they selling you? What value are they adding? They won’t be able to answer those questions. They usually give some excuse about how their finance department needs to make money too. I say, that’s fine, I’ll give your finance dept $100/hour for the paperwork they have to draw up. That’s a fair rate. Nobody has taken me up on that but they always do the base rate.

As folks suggest, get a broker. I did on the same reco and just got these numbers locked. Base mf and 10% off msrp pre incentives.

To me marking up the MF is 100% not acceptable. They in a sense double dipping by trying to make additional profit from higher interest rate and selling price of the car.
Always start with base MF then work on discount of the car otherwise its just a waste of time. Alan

BMW of brooklyn, you're in NJ, you;re close enough to them. i'm buying my second car from them. they did not jack up anything either time. their documentation fee is only $75. aside from that, everything else is the base rate. you pay the basic bank fee, base MF, sales tax and that's it. no funny business. i told them what options i wanted and they gave me 10% off MSRP right off the bat both times. didn't have to ask for it.

yes, very important if you are leasing to make sure you dial in that MF. I see SOOO many people on here posting how they got x amount off MSRP, thats great but if the MF is marked up that can eat up some discount.
when you are getting quotes just make sure to ask for a full breakdown of the deal. Happy hunting

Can you PM me your sales advisor ? Last time two times I leased X5's, they would not go less than 4 to 5% depending on model. They are great, communicative, but sadly their discounts could not come close to others. Maybe this year it's different?
