Display Blank issue

Got in the car in this morning and the display is blank. No speedo or rev counter etc

making the car undriveable!!!!

I had the software updated last week to 07/2020.25 due to other problems in the car relating to a rear seat issue . The latest software has broken many items such as the sports display on HUD and the 3d Camera system has a line through it . Now the blank screen. Very annoying . What next

Any body else had the issue of the blank screen

It happened in the thread above and again after updating to 2020/07.25 so far it has happened twice, the thread above and just recently when starting the car after the latest SW update; could not get it to come back on so drove a short distance, stopped and then when I went back to restart the car about 30 minutes later it operated normally. I'ved notified the service department and I'm now awaiting feedback.

I had the same issue with the sports display gone. It needs to be enabled always on to be able to work.

I had the same issue happen to me today while driving
The entire gauge cluster went black
Then it came back about 30 second and later, and got an error message about cross traffic not available
On the latest software update which was installed about 10 days ago
This has never happened before
This is a 2020 X5 40i

Hopefully it is just a software issue or other minor issue. Mine went blank last year and I had to have my display control unit replaced...took 6 weeks to get the part.

No issues since.

crap now i don't feel so bad that I am still on SW version 11/2019.

I'm the one that posted that first thread. And I never came back and updated it. Sorry!

The dealer just reset all the software and it hasn't happened again thankfully.

Had idrive fixed today at the garage. I was informed that eventually bmw head office had to remotely log into the idrive to make the necessary adjustment. Nice to see the surround camera now shows the correct vehicle and not the 5 series. It really bugged me, how sad am I
