G05 5-seat second row tilt?
I am waiting for my 2023 G05 40i. I don't have the 3rd row seats option so I know the second row seats are pretty fixed: no-back-forward move, no tilt.
I am just wondering, has anyone looked into how to make second row seats tilting mostly for elderly passengers? Thanks in advance, |

There's a little possible adjustment for the back seat without the third row, it's a manual adjustment when using the folding option you can put them more vertical (to get more cargo) or tilted to the back for the confort of the passengers

I'm going to need the RTFM cause afaik, the rears are fixed. It's either -latched- or not. Zero option to increase the recline, which I think it does need a smidge more....it's a bit too vert

Thanks for all the inputs. I will get my G05 at the end of the month (fingers crossed). I am very interested in knowing if anyone has MOD the second row seat for reclining, or even retrofit tilting seats.

The standard seats in a two-row are not designed to be tilted, other than up all the way and down all the way. I wouldn't trust a partial, out of locked, tilt, as the seat might just slam down during braking.
You might call the dealer service department and see if they can take out your back seat, in your newly ordered X5, and replace it with a back seat from a three-row X5 that has the tilting capability. Or simply see if they can order you an X5 with a third row option. |

As with all retrofits, it is potentially possible if money is no object. Just looking at the seat “structure” for the power seats, it runs about $2600 total for both sides. Then you would need new modules, controls, and possibly some other parts as well. The leather is different as well with cutouts for the controls. If you got lucky and found someone selling a used 2nd row of power seats, it might make it more reasonable, otherwise it does seem cost prohibitive.

you are right. MOD may not be the safest thing to do. Unfortunately, 3-row was not available when I ordered. Guess I have to stick with the upright position for a while and enjoy every minute in the driver seat!
