Finally picked up my X5 40i yesterday. Here is my build:

- Carbon Black X5 40i with M Sport package
- Black Vernasca leather with Poplar Anthracite trim
- 20" M740 wheels with RFT's
- Executive package
- Premium Package 2
- Parking assistance package
- Luxury seating package
- Harman Kardon
- Acoustic glass
- Adaptive Cruise Control
- Heating and cooling front and rear seats with steering wheel and armrests
- M Sport Brakes

Here is the timeline from the day the order was placed till it got delivered to the dealership:

4/13 - order placed
4/16 - entered production queue
4/26 - enroute to the OXnard, CA VDC
5/10 - vehicle at the dealership and PDI done - ready to be picked up by me
5/13 - I picked up the vehicle

3.5 weeks from ordering to delivery is amazing. Even the SA was super surprised that it was that quick and he has never seen that before, especially for a busy market like the bay area in CA.

Spent 1.5 hours before signing any paperwork and did a thorough check including had the genius try the back up parking and parallel parking to ensure it works the way it is supposed to. Checked for the wireless charging apple pay issue and no Apple pay screen popped up. The weather widget is working fine and so is navigation.

Mods done already:
- Black Grill from eBay
- Rear body color reflectors from IND
- Front body color reflectors
- Front CF lip
- F97 CF mirror caps
- CF roundels front and back
- Mud flaps
- Full front PPF
- Front and read window tint
- Screen protectors for iDrive screen and live dash
- Coding out the ASS
- Alpina dash without any logo
- M welcome and goodbye screen
- Video in Motion

So far super excited about the technology and the features - upgrading from a E90 LCI and my first SUV/SAV ever. I am just going to enjoy the car and looking forward to working on it as more after market parts start becoming available. Attached are some pics to get started with.

This looks great! I'm getting ready to order my X5 with almost the same exact specs. I'm even more excited after seeing your pictures.
A couple of questions:
What are your thoughts on the Acoustic glass? Noticeably quieter ride?

What kind of screen protectors did you put on the car? I haven't heard much about needing to protect for temperature... is this an issue people are experiencing?

Thanks!

Heck yeah! The best feature for the least price. 100% feel the difference and so this is a must have for the acoustic glass.

This is not so much for heat protection. I just want the actual screen to be clean and free of scratches.

I used the one from amazon - https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0...?ie=UTF8&psc=1

and this one

Man the roundel for the hood looks amazing with the carbon fiber accents. I have a very similar build except I broke down and got the bigger engine, even though I have no need for it .

Might I ask where you got the hood roundel from? Thanks!

Also I noticed there are a lot of different variants of the black grill on ebay. All priced differently as well. Did you opt for one of the OEM models at $500-ish or one of the cheaper versions. Yours looks great!

Ha! I had it from my e90 that i replaced with this g05. These are on their 5th year and holding strong! They are amazing in quality to the point that 2 of my sets got stolen. Bought it from a seller on the e90 forum 5 years ago and I don't think he is in business anymore in Taiwan

I don't think there are multiple variants for the g05 but if there are then they must've popped up in the last 2 weeks or so. I got the one priced at $215 shipped.

These look quite good.

How well do they fit, and is it a fiddle to get them on??

Thanks

What an anti climax to my one month wait for these!!

Got them off Amazon.com as you had suggested and got my B in L to get them to Bombay.

Turns out that the one above, that goes over the touch screen, was loaded the wrong way, so the sticky bit which adheres to the screen was facing me.

The one for the dash display is perfect and that makes me even more frustrated!!

Sorry, just venting!!

That is exactly what I was going to say that since you are in India it may be a different orientation for a RHD.
