Huh? A 325i is not a car a kid of the super rich drives. It's only $35K, which means $400 - $500 per month. Big deal. His parents are paying way more than that for his school.

I've seen what the kids of the super rich drive. It's usually not 325's. 645's and M5's would be more like it.

hmmm..."only $35k" for high school kids? Well, I don't know about that. IMO, unless you pay for it with your own $$$, you'll never truly understand its value.

Making bank?

I don't care that "I'm not investing it," when I'm a doctor making a ton of money, that 35k won't haunt me when I'm making bank. So while I'm going through my 10 years of schooling for free, how about I enjoy myself with my money???

Way to make yourself look like a fool.
The way you talk about money, you do sound like a doctor, not an MBA candidate. When it comes to applying for med school in 3 1/2 years, I'd probably leave out the bit about 'making bank'. Enjoy the car, but study hard, dude. No matter what your IQ, your horsepower or your bank account, all-nighters are still all nighters and on-call is still on-call. Best of luck.

I live on the north shore of long island and when I went to high school the 3 series was just another car. There were like 20 of them in the lot. The real wealthy kids would drive their Range Rovers, M3's, Mercedes CLK, 5 series, Porsche Boxters, one kid even had an SL500! It was crazy....but on the bright side I never had to worry about anyone scratching or messing with my 330xi. Then i went off to college and bam, first semester, car got keyed 3 times. I used to spend 20 min looking for a safe spot and just dreaded coming back to it. Finally, I just said screw it and started parking illegally in the teacher's lots. No problems ever since then.
My advice: take care of this before he leaves something permanent!
Worst feeling in the world: coming back to your car and finding out someone keyed it.

super rich kids with phat rides dont bother me as long as they have a general knowledge and appreciation for their car. Obviously the people on these forums want to learn more and actively discuss about their e90s.
i definately met this rich ass kid with an e46 m3 who didnt even know about the different modes of SMG, he thought it was an automatic.....people like that dont deserve cars that are meant to be driven, he shoulda gotten an s-class

Lol @ the guy who says 16 year old's shouldn't drive 3 Series.

What do you say about the kids in my city who aren't 18 and own more than 2 cars? What do you say about the kids who aren't 18 and drive Range Rovers, 7 Series, and a Benz CLS?

Yeah, thought so.

Who cares what we drive, it's none of your business. Coming to the conclusion that all teens with a 3 Series are "rich" and "spolied" is complete ignorance.

ya my car isnt the nicest but its in the top 5 or 10%. Theres like 4 or 5 M3's, 2 Range Rover Sports, and yes, a Cayenne Turbo (probablly more just cant think of them at 6:55 am). Uhh im almost 100% sure theres no cameras in the parking lot. They dont give us a "real" lot to park it, ill take a picture of it today but lets put it this way, its a gravel area with parking bumpers randomly placed in the most awkard positions.

You just exemplified the primary reason these boards are frustrating to some. Drop out of school, spend every penny you earn on a car, and see where you'll be in 20 years.

I would definitely talk to the kid first. See why he is so intent on doing damage to your car. I personally think it's the jealousy factor. If he stills insists on damaging your car, damage his head. I know thats not the best way, but you have to draw the line some where. If the idiot won't stop, you have to stop him. I always say, if you want to live a long healthy life, don't fvck with a man's family, house or car. Or you can drive a beater to school and let him mess that one up.

I had somebody messing around with my car when I was 17. It was an 86 Audi 5000s. The car was almost 10 years old! I have no tolerance for that.

I would drive a beater but i dont have one lol. I agree with that sentance "if you want to live a long healthy life, don't fvck with a man's family, house or car." thats a good line. Im going to talk to him before i go to the dean and if we cant get it settled that way then i will go the dean. Wish me luck I have a class with him in an hour.

If you're entering medicine these days solely for money, you're the fool.

Enjoy paying out tens - sometimes hundreds - of thousands per year in malpractice coverage. Thankfully, the IRS will only take half of what's left.

"The Guy" did read what you wrote. You are so intent on proving your point, that you fail to realize the other side of the argument.

Many, if not most of those driving a BMW did so by earning it. I'm not talking about one summer of saving up money, I'm talking about busting their ass in college, getting a degree, and then establishing themselves in the "real world". Taking delivery of that BMW is more than just buying a nice car. It's a confirmation of one's place in life - of what it took to get to that point. It's about 4+ years of college, filled with all nighters. It's about putting in the hours at work to earn that promotion. It's a personal affirmation that one has succeeded.

It is a feeling that money just cannot buy, and parents can not just hand their children.

It's a feeling that I hope you will someday have - not because you worked your ass off for one summer to earn the car, but because you cut the umbilical cord and did so while standing on your own two feet.

Maybe that what the car means to u... and probably others... but to me yes its a BMW but come on its still a car(a great car that is )... you make it sound like the only reason u went to school and put all the work in was to buy a car... i dont know about u but but there are way more important reasons for me to go to schol then to buy a car... but hey thats u and ur personal opinion
