How to leave wipers in the up position

How do you leave the wipers in the up position when you turn off the X5?

Hold wiper stalk all the way down. It will wipe twice and stay upright on the third wipe. Much more here: https://g05.bimmerpost.com/forums/sh....php?t=1667203

That's funny, mine stays upright on the 2nd wipe in this car.

OP - make sure your car is in "standby" state when you hold the stalk down, not drive ready.

Just to add, and your experience my vary...but I never had luck doing this with my key card. The fob seemed easier, as you unlock, enter the car, go into stand-by state and hold the stalk down. Once they stay up, I immediately turn everything off by holding down the power button.

The only other caveat, be careful if you're washing and drying then going back in. For some reason, when I leave them folded back away from the windshield and enter the car to dry door sills and other parts...the does that weird electrical click and groan sound when it powers up the instruments upon entering. The wipers kind of move slightly, and hit the edge of the hood. It's nothing overly bad, but still makes me cringe.

This probably makes no sense, but you will notice it when you go about the process. just throw a towel between the hood edge and the wiper arms!

Just double checked: definitely 2 full wipes then stays up on the 3rd wipe. Canadian model, currently 3/2019.45.

The hidden mechanism, curious, didn't know about it.
