Thanks for the knowledge. It is less stressful if you know what is actually going on.

I didn't even get a production number or VIN on the Z4 until it was in "In the paint booth", so I missed this part of the tracking on it.

I'm guessing the holidays may keep it in "Production Begins" a tad longer than usual.

I wouldn’t think so given their scheduling. You can use the F12 process to get your production date. The instructions are posted in many threads or let us know if you need them.

Not sure the right place to post this, but here's what I started with accessory wise on the 45e:

1. Modern Spare compact for longer road trips
2. Ratchet straps to tie down the spare tire (or other heavy cargo)
3. BMW floor mats (not liners) front/rear
4. Generic kaungka mat for the cargo area
5. Generic ShockFlo 16A level 1 charging cable (16A vs 10A charging)
6. Compact fire extinguisher
7. Visor clip for sunglasses
8. Lower control arm dampers for road noise
9. Turtewax 3-in-1 ceramic waterless detailer to keep the rear clean (white paint), but I'm a drive-thru car wash kind of owner

Were we supposed to fill up any form or complete any formality to be eligible for the federal tax credit or just taking the delivery before Dec 31st was good enough?

You will file form 8936 with your taxes in order to get the credit.

Haven't seen anyone else still waiting or stuck the way I was. Talked to my dealer and the system shows delivery 1/8 but he said there's a rush on it and he thinks it may show up early. Hoping it gets there early so I can go get it Saturday but given the way the process has gone I'd be surprised if I got that lucky.

A belated photo of the car, it was delivered on 12/23.
There were a few tiny paint chips that were touched up but no issues otherwise.

Also got around to adding a pass-though hole for charging cable to the outside wall, as the car will be parked outside. Used this as a guide, https://dougnet.home.blog/2018/09/01...-instructions/.
