My SA said the same, week 51 from originally 48. Good news for me is the dealership is about 10 miles from the factory.

Called genius this morning. I’m still wk50 status 112.
It didn’t get bumped up, but it also didn’t get pushed further back…yet.

that's good news, but I wouldn't worry. It's week 47, so you'll probably move to 150 next week if you're build stays week 50

I'm totally new to BMW, so bear with me. Was talking to a rep yesterday who said their Week 50 spec ordered 45e was in stage 112. He said they could change to my spec as long as it was before it was pulled to build. Is the next stage 150 when it gets assigned a day in that week or something?

He suggested I hurry to get them an order - e.g. today/tomorrow

Correct. You’re still able to make changes to your build, but once you go status 150 your specs are locked in.

Next step is indeed 150 from 112, and that usually occurs when you’re at least 2 weeks out from it actually being built. So between Nov 28 and Dec 09 you should go status 150.

I'm in a very similar boat and decided to just put down a deposit to take the allocation. Currently 112 with a week 50 production... any ideas if making a color change will cause the date to be pushed back further? My main concern is taking delivery and ownership of the vehicle before the new year. Any insight is appreciated!

Tough to say what actually causes builds to be pushed back. Some thought it was 740 wheels. Others thought leather. If you get an individual color like dravit grey you’ll def be pushed back.

Prob be best not to make any changes this late in the game if you want to take delivery before end of yr especially since you’re already estimated wk50.

Color likely won’t make a difference but I suggest changing the color even if it does. Having to live with a vehicle that you will constantly be thinking should have a different color is not worth the $7,500 in my opinion.

Really appreciate the input! I will most likely be requesting a color change since it's a standard color and not an individual one. This will be my first BMW so it feels good to know there's a solid community of knowledgeable enthusiasts

I talk with the Genius this morning (11/21/2022) based on the prod number I got last week.
The X5 45e current status is 112, and he said that for it's production number the Build week is 50, and that is the week when the car will be done and ready to ship.
Does anybody know how much time on average will be needed from that moment to the moment the car is in the dealer lot?
The dealer is in Mountain View, California.
I look forward to sign papers and pick the car this year :-)

Unfortunately there is no chance that you will be able to get it this year. It has been taking about three weeks for California deliveries.

Oooof west coast delivery? You’ll want at least 3 weeks so prod date of wk48 was prob the latest you could do. I don’t think you’ll get it in time with wk50 unfortunately. Also might be further delays with a possible rail strike since union rejected labor deal.

wk 44 pushed to 50

Signed deal in early Oct. and was originally week 44, and went backwards when everyone else also went backwards, and finally got back to 112 with week 50 about 2-3 weeks ago.

Someone had mentioned the West Coast theory, and I think that might be it, hopefully. It's frustrating seeing week 45-48 people getting production dates when I was originally week 44, but there seems to be a pattern of those cars being West coast deliveries which need more lead time.

Hopefully we get our cars before the EOY!

I had that theory but it is now confirmed to be completely random. Something happened with the allocations submitted in October that some are still floating around 112. Work with your dealer.

I feel like I've been left at the altar...

Working with the local SA yesterday and today. Some back and forth on my trade in - finally late today he answers me (after several reach outs on my part) and said that another sales rep sold the allocation he had for me. I feel like they really didn't want to sell me the car because I was upfront and said I would not accept a '23 delivery should it not show by 12/31.

Not that they couldn't easily sell it. Anyway, leaves a really bad taste in my mouth with the game playing that went on today. Haven't dealt with that in a long while - doesn't happen with Tesla and my Ford dealer is great.

So.....if anyone has a bead on a week 50 allocation on the east coast/midwest, please let me know.

On the lot here in Madison. They don't markup so the price is the price.

Well looks like I'm out. Can't find anyone willing to let me order a Week 50 without guaranteeing I would take it in '23. That doesn't make sense to me as I can just wait for a '24 this summer.

My bad for not figuring this out a month or two ago.

Good luck all with your orders and Happy Thanksgiving!

Nobody will ever guarantee when you will take delivery. I ordered first if October, and the dealership wouldn't guarantee delivery in 2023.

There are simply too many supply shortages and other unknowns these days.

The next best thing is placing an order with a refundable deposit.

I bet you could have ordered a week 50 build and just canceled if it didn't get delivered in time.
