$2,000 bonus cash from Navy Federal

How does that work? Does the dealer just lose that or is it reimbursed to them? My wife has an NFCU checking account and her father is a veteran.

It's basically treated as an incentive - dealer deducts that from the MSRP as usual. There's a form NFCU would generate that you give to the dealer. FWIW, it's also the same amount/program that you can get from the BMW program's URL (you have to verify via ID.me). As far as how/if the dealer gets that money and from where... I would guess it's from BMW NA.

I did the BMW form when I bought my X5 last month and it was painless. I just emailed the PDF of the form and they took the $2K off.

This is not fully explained. The Domestic Military incentive definitely can be stacked with Loyalty. When doing so though you are financing/leasing with BMWFS so the incentive drops to $500. Last year for the Western Region it could be stacked and get the full $2k.

hmmm not sure what happened to my edit but I did put that it does stack with loyalty if you do BMWFS on lease or finance

When I used the bonus, the process was pretty straightforward. The $2,000 bonus is typically a discount when purchasing a car from a participating dealership. So, it doesn't come out of the dealer's pocket; it's reimbursed to them by NFCU.

Nothing comes from NFCU. They are just one of the ways to get the certificate for BMW’s Domestic Military Incentive. The dealers are reimbursed by BMWFS.
