What tires/wheels do you have? Some make it tough to impossible to rotate, some are easy. Personally, I have a square setup, and rotate them between my summer and winter tire installations, but to maximize your tire life, if you can, 5K miles isn't a bad timeframe. BMW in general does not specify tire rotation that I've seen. Some tires are directional, and the cost to remount a tire to swap side just isn't cost effective. Throw in non-square setups, and just side-to=side may not help much.

Thanks for the info.
I hav the basic 19 inch tires. I do have tires warranty from discount tire with unlimited rotation and balance. They recommended every 6k or 7k. I was waiting for my first year maintenance with Bmw service center to rotate. But Based on my reading it looks like Bmw does not include tire rotation in it’s maintenance and I have to pay out of pocket. So I guess I will go ahead and it with discount tire. |

I bought the tire coverage from Discount Tire and get them balanced and rotated every 5k miles.

I also think 5k is a good number easy to keep track as well. The proper procedure is always so balanced when rotate. Directional and asymmetric tires can also be rotated just as easy without remounting, because directional and asymmetric don’t coexist. Tire shops know where to put them.
