Sure, wank over that magnificent NA in your X3, but don't let it stop you from appreciating something better. This is a badass car with a badass engine and the power delivery on turbo Porsches has been smooth and predictable for many years. This isn't the 80s.
On the X3 and my Saab a turbo is great. Excellent low end torque for regular potting around, passing and freeway entry. if you know how to milk it then freeway mileage is excellent too.

But a sports car that will not be tracked? I want to hustle it a little, want some drama, want some noise and edgyness. IMHO peak street 911 was the 997 GTS, the 991.1 GTS is compelling but is more a trim exercise than an actual different swing at a middling model. 400 or so NA HP, rev happy ..... i'd take that over 470HP of turbo charged brilliance with a mountain of low end torque any day for a car i am hustling on the street.

...i present to you the single most customized GT2 RS in the world, part of the special wishes program.

This was at DTA3 a few weeks back here in NY.

The color is insane, its Urban Bamboo, a PTS Chromaflair offering, the color changes and moves with every angle and motion you look at it as well as light condition. You can buy a fully loaded M3 for less than the paint job!!!!!:
Beautiful car but god... what a waste of money IMO....even for someone ridiculously rich that just seems absurd.

Its all relative, for some peps dollars are like pennys...plus the fact is the owner will likely sell it for more than he paid so its an investment in his eyes.

Everything, including an M3, is a waste of money when the use is for driving on the street and not as a career that bring in an income. We cant use 80% of the power and the handling upgrades are meaningless, but they are fun and we accept that there is a cost to that fun. But a waste none the less.

You should see how the rich and shameless waste their money, this aint nuttin!

That GT2 is a legitimate work of art, I'm normally on the 'cars are meant to be driven' side of the fence but I'm okay with the owner not driving it.

Wish I caught it when it was up in RI, there were so many awesome cars at that show but I was super busy that weekend.

Yeah, it's the way it goes. I'm not hating, I just know that if I ever made it to that level it would have been hard earned not handed over, so I feel my stance on a $100,000 paint job would remain unchanged.

As for expensive/rare cars though, the 959 is serious. I don't think I've actually ever seen one of those on the road but I have seen both a Carrera GT and 918 Spyder driving before and they were impressive to say the least.

I saw a 992 for the very first time yesterday. It was grey and was very nice looking but also very complicated looking with design. Overall was cool and left a good impression but I don't know how desirable it would be compared to previous one. It seems a little but more rice look which is just naturally less desirable

An evolutionary change in design for sure. But that’s always been Porsche’s scheme. I like it, especially the industrial design-like interior.

The turbos are great and fast as hell. Put the same gt3rs cup tires on a turbo s and it would for sure beat up the 'track special' RS.

But im still going gt3 because its limited. anyone could walk into their local porsche dealer and order a turbo to their spec.

Porsche gave a few publications access to some of the mules.

Not a ton of surprises. Slightly heavier. Slightly faster. Slightly wider.

I’d guess they are only quoting Porsche’s numbers. My guess is, this car does somewhere between a 9.9-10.2@138-140 mph 1/4 mile and does the Ring in under 7 seconds. I also still don’t think the weight is bad. It is still lighter by good margin than an M3/4 which without Awd and DCT is 3700 lbs, and even a small little rwd car like the M2 Competiton is 3600+.
