I had to disable the traffic light warning feature. Way too many false alerts for red lights in lanes belonging to other traffic flows. One that was happening constantly was being in the right lane on the freeway and passing an onramp metering light.

11/2023 update: Made a run down to Sarasota today. Got a chance to check out the 'quality updates' to the DAPP functions.

Cruising with the Active Driving Assistant, I noticed the lane keeping was much smoother than before (03/2023) with no ping-pong to stay in the lane. lane changes were executed smoothly and quickly once it was safe. (I purposely signaled for a lane change before a passing car was clear. Once the car was clear, the function executed a lane change.) Only had one time with wonky striping that it gave up and forced me to steer.

At one point, due to construction, traffic was stop and go. ETJA armed shortly after the traffic speed dropped below 40 mph. I activated it and it worked well, seamlessly transitioning between modes as the speed went from stopped to about 50 mph.

Subtle changes, but definitely a noticeable improvement.

Coding ASS to be disabled is definitely possible in the older versions using the BimmerCode App. I did this to my 2023 X5 (with no button) right after I left the dealership. I keep waiting for someone to report back if it's still possible with the latest 11/2023 update from BMW. Until I hear otherwise, I'm just going to stick with the old software from BMW.

No it is not, they removed it starting with 03/20203.

My dealer performed the update and corrected the multiple faults caused by the last over the air attempt I made. Nothing seems to have changed. Still can’t use CarPlay for music and phone calls due to volume issues. If they added anything I’m unaware of it. Not a good look for bmw. Lots to love about my 24 LCI but the tech glitches have sealed its fate for me. I’ll spend my next 75k elsewhere.

my dealer installed 11/2023.30 back in Dec during its 3-year annual maintenance. i received the notification to install 11/2023.50 via OTA this morning which uploaded from my phone to iDrive without any hitch. upon returning home, i got the prompt to install as soon as i ended my trip. the install took 8 minutes

truth be told, i've never had any issues with installing OTA updates that have been pushed to my vehicle/iPhone knock on wood. all updates have been straightforward, but it sure is a quandary why it's not smooth for everyone

Maybe it's just me or maybe this update package was smaller than my previous 2 builds...took a short drive...like maybe 6 minutes. Then parked, swung back around...it uploaded this build from *my phone* within that 6 minute drive. Seemed faster than the last build, which I believe it was uploading on a *commute*. I didn't time how long the upgrade took, but recoded everything back and just to see (based on some posters response), I coded ASS to off, set the default to Adaptive and also set it to remember last modemory to Active. We shall see.....based on that posters remark if ASS sticks in this combo....which it doesn't on the March Build

I got the 11/2023.50 update and recoded ASS to off. ASS did not stick in this release, either. Everything else that I recoded works as before.

Not sure what is and is not related to the over the air update, but I received this “entertainment” message in my 2024 X5 LCI over the weekend. After I followed instructions to install, I then had these two apps on the dashboard, but neither of them function. Selecting/pressing the App does nothing. My software is, and was prior to following these “entertainment” instructions, 11/2023.42 so I’m not sure if they will function after a software update from the 11/2023.42 to any of the upgraded versions I see everyone posting in this thread.
Anyone else have this issue at all?

It is a subscription service, you need to subscribe in order for the apps to work. You should see the option to subscribe in ConnectedDrive.

Thanks. Yes. I’ve subscribed. Received the 0.00 invoice, as well as an email that it may take 24 hours for the subscription to take effect. It’s been 3 days now.
If I click on the apps in the dashboard, the apps open up. After that the apps don’t respond to anything I click, ex “start” or “continue” but the system is not frozen because It responds to everything else I press on not related to those specific apps.

I think a few others posted something similar but not sure what their solution was. You may want to search for entertainment and see if it pops up. Good luck and let us know how it turns out.

Step 1, you subscribe to entertainment
Step 2, force update app & services or wait
Step. 3, video and air console shortcuts will be pushed to all apps and visible on screen
Step. 4, selecting each new app will then trigger the actual download of the app. This takes some time
Step 5, once you get noticed that app is downloaded they can be used,


Note, video app only works with touch screen and not controller. Maybe it’s it’s the same for air console … memory hazy. They are both pretty much junk, and unusable.

Thanks for that info. Hopefully, after I launched the apps, they were downloading and that’s why not functional yet. I’ll double check that. Thanks again

After rebooting the idrive system, the apps are now responsive.
FYI it works without the eSIM connected.
I don’t have an eSIM connected because I have a business ATT account, and multiple times I’ve been told by ATT and BMW that I can not connect eSIM with a business account, only a personal account.
I mention this because I have read a few threads where members mentioned what does and does not work with eSIM.
Anyway it works and thanks for all the information!

Its not just you. When mine updated from 11/2021.50 to 03/2023.67 the file size was close to 1GB. 11/2023.50 was only about half that size.

Anyone know what is in 11/2023.73? I have 11/2023.50 and my car is trying to download 73 today. BMW app sent me a notification this morning but when I go into the app it doesn’t show that I can download 73. All strange

Nothing exiting:
Welcome light animation, more variants are available as BMW connected drive upgrades.
Speedlimit assist, now including automatic stopping at traffic lights.


Not a lot of use in UK as traffic light function isn't available and I certainly won't be paying for the welcome light function.
