I'd still get a GoPro over the video camera. Though the Sony has Zeiss optics, I believe, for the video you are looking to shoot, the GoPro will do roughly the same job.

Sony has the upper hand on the GoPro in sensor size, but unless your doing nighttime shooting, you won't notice a difference, unless observing at super high resolution. Both record at relatively high bitrates and resolutions. GoPro can do 4k, but at 30fps I believe.

I've got a Sony camera and a GoPro. I use the GoPro for pretty much all my dynamic video capture. It's a lot easier to setup and provides many more shots than a Sony.

I use my Sony camera for photos and videos. Superb, quality, yes, but much, much, much more limited applications.

Need to see both in person and how the quality of the images are ..
But I was blown away with the quality images of the Sony AX53 , think the Sony has also some options to fix it on my dash..
Need to look further into the whole possibilities ..

Take a look at the a6300 too. It's a interchangeable lens, but the quality is unreal for its size.

Get the Sony AS200V. There's a guy on YouTube in-depth comparing the GoPro4 silver and the Sony cam, and the Sony has better quality video. And it is cheaper than GoPro. Almost bought one, but decided to get some Chinese GoPro knock-off instead...

Haha. That's literally the only saving grace. I love the RS6 Avant, though. That's where my money would be going. Don't really care much for MB.
