030da8 & ff1382

Today my check engine light came on was able to clear it but the 2 errors are in the title.

The error FF1382 did not have any information

But the 030DA8 did it states

Battery status detection DSS Li-lon: serial number not identical after battery replacement

I had no battery replacement done on this far its a 2019 x5 40i

Maybe just a random bug? Cant find anything on the internet regarding this.

Thanks for yall help!

Not sure if this is your issue or not. Maybe you can tell.

Its stated situation is -
A software error intermittently causes a continuous resetting of the microcontroller in the power management system. This causes the red Check Control Message (CCM) “Replace Battery” to be illuminated.
The link below is for the NHTSA site and is titled" SERVICE ACTION: PROGRAM OR REPLACE DUAL STORAGE. SYSTEM BATTERY". It is a PDF file for a TIS Service Bulletin.

but the settings of the car says no system faults all checks ok

i also have bimmerlink

booked an appointment with the dealer but cant get in until jan 17

anyone have any issues with the grill opening up and closing? think my grill flaps could be stuck or broken would cause this?

also curios if anyone on here knows how to check the function of the active kidney grill flaps??

i found that if you put the AC to max cool they will auto open.

any other methods?

also weird the car seems to be having a over heating issue or some sorts when its been 40 degree F below all this winter so far.

I saw another Bimmerpost some time ago (but cannot find it now) where an owner was getting the "engine too hot" warning and the car would not start even though it had been parked for some time. In the end it turned out to be a bad battery. Maybe your 2 issues are related?

even if you change the battery, you’ll still have to take it to the dealer to have it registered. let them do it and retrieve the codes, diagnose your other issues, etc

So after reading that thread. My wife did pop the hood so i understand why that would come up safety thing.

But i still dont understand why the car is retaining heat it is heating up really quickly

I will take a video once i start it in the morning and show how quickly the temp climbs it has never done that before.

Maybe there is nothing going on with the car

I also got the vents to open on the grill by turning the ac to max so the grill is functioning.

Im confused now.

It could be the error code is just stuck. Ignore the heating up quickly, likely just something you are noticing now due to the error. Try rebooting iDrive.

That is the LI battery as part of there dual storage system, the AGM battery is in the back under the floor.

No need to do that, it charges wether coasting or braking. It actually will charge more usually when braking than coasting as shown in the meter.
