M1 / M2 - Ultimate Settings?

Sometimes too many options are just that, too many!

My setup for both M1 and M2:

D1/Sport Plus. All the rest is Efficient..

Manual shifting using the gear selector is set to S3

Change my mind!

Don't you guys find D3 too aggressive? At that point I rather go S3 and shift myself...what am I missing?

I actually prefer it in D3 since it will auto shift. I can still manually shift it if i want to where as if you start out in S3 you have to shift no matter what. Not the best for fuel economy but I didn't buy this car to save a few hundred bucks on gas a year. I'm after smiles per mile not miles per gallon

D3 keeps the car always ready to leap forward. D2 is fine but I do find it in too high a gear too early sometimes. D1 and comfort mode is not do-able for me. I'm only in that setting when the car is warming up. Once the oil temps are normal i go straight in to M1 or M2.

You managed to change my mind! I re-configured M2 to D3. so far so good! Let's see how long this will last...

M1 - Sport/Everyday Mode
M2 - Basically the same setup, because I bought it for fun and not economy mode.

M1 for me is everything in sport but traction control is on.

M2 is the same but traction control off.

I find myself bringing it down to D2. D3 is a little too aggressive sometimes and hold the gears too long.

I used to have S3 on and floor it and forget to shift and redline. I decided to stop doing that LOL

M1 has steering and suspension in comfort, engine & trans are balls-out. Daily driving comfort here!

M2 is all balls-out and no electronic fun police.

That's exactly what I felt about D3 after playing with it and therfore concluded that the fastest transmission settings has to be S3 as there is not a single road other than maybe a racetrack that D3 make sense so if you want fast shifts on public roads you have to be able to control the shifting point...

I also discovered that D3 / S3 is the only settings that cuts off ignition during shifts over 3000 rpm and produces that satisfactory exhaust note. Such is not the case in any of the other settings...

There is also a subtle exhaust note at lift off in low speeds that I find more apparent in D3 / S3 though it does come up occasionally in other settings

Wth respect to D1, 2 3 - doesn't it just hold the gear until a higher RPM for each ? I find D2 holds the rpm to 7 before it shifts - what is D3 like compared to this?

I see you referencing S3 - how do you make it S3 ? isn't S just manual shifting ?

One more thing - for engine - is the only difference with sport and sport + the loss of traction control ?

Thanks in advance
