Streak marks on side skirts, but not hard water stains

Guys, need some serious help. NYC was raining pretty hard last week for several days. Afterward, I notice some streak marks on both side of the side skirts, right between the front and rear doors. See pictures below. I used waterless on-the-go spray with high quality microfiber cloth, but the streak marks just don't go away. This can't be hard water streak marks.

Need suggestions from ya on how to get rid of them. I picked up my G06 only for two weeks!

Most likely it's Cosmoline (rust preventative) applied during manufacturing. Most of it gets washed off at VPC and ends up inside the door where it seeps out - more so during summer months when it gets hot.

I used 3M adhesive remover ages ago or a mild detergent and hot water steamer to cleaner - it melts at a certain degree and wipes off. This time around I had it ceramic coated and the guys prepping cleaned it off.

Just don't let it sit for too long as it'll harden and becomes a pain in the arse to clean it off later.

3M adhesive remover - is it this one?

https://www.amazon.com/3M-03618-Adhe.../dp/B000BQYA7W

Did some research about this. It looks like the issue that I'm having is quite common on BMW vehicles. Someone suggested using Goo Gone. Some even said WD-40 will do the job.

I'm not sure which one I should try. I'm afraid that this type of remover will rip the clear coat and paint. Please let me know your thoughts.

Yep the first one is the one I've used. You still want to apply wax after you clean it to protect the clear coat.

You can also try a microfiber cloth soaked in a bucket of very very hot water and then let the cloth sit on the sill.

P21 paint cleaner is perfect for this and also will remove any hairline scratches. It’s gentle and will give you better results than harsh chemicals.

I use both of these for a show winning paint prep and show shine.

Here is a great combo deal
