I purchased this one and it's working well. Supplied hooks attach to the floor rings in the G05 45e front cargo area. The loops on the top side easily reach and go around the pull down hooks on the upper sides of the cargo area. It's not too taunt but that allows it to easily rest along the tailgate when not attached to the side hooks. Serving its purpose very well.

Does anyone know if this is the same/similar net that they offer in Europe as an option for G05 which also seems to be part of the luggage compartment package (see below pic)? If so, can this net be installed in a G05 without the luggage compartment package? It seems like one can use the two floor hooks to secure the bottom of the net and use the holes next to rear seat release handles to attach the net's two top hooks provided it has them.

Someone here mentioned using this net from previous generation of X5? Is it the same as the one in Europe in the pic below? Thank you.

Go back one page to post #43. Are you asking about the cargo net that separates the cargo area from the passenger area...or the flexnet located at the rear of the cargo area (across the tailgate area)?

The 11 digit BMW part nbr is given in post #43 for the flexnet used for the G05 X5.

Do you know which one you ended up picking? (32x24, 35x16, or 40x32)

Thanks!!

Sorry that I left that detail out. 35x16 for the tail of the cargo area.

So, can anyone confirm that the part number 51477332111 for the flexnet (the one that goes across the tailgate) fits G05 without the luggage compartment package? I assume it has for hooks - the bottom ones hook on the two the lashing eyes on the cargo floor and the top ones go into the holes by the rear seat release levers, right?

Is there a cargo net that separates the cargo area from the passenger? None on BMWUSA site and I need something along those lines. Amazon alternative 🤔 available that somebody would like to recommend?

Hey Folks,
As some have already noted, if you get the Luggage Compartment Package you also get the netting to attach to the rear-most part of the luggage space. I appreciated the DIY tip on adding bungie cords to the small side compartments. Well, I thought this was a good idea and was going to do the same. Apparently, part of the Luggage Compartment Package includes netting for those small side compartments! Yeah, just goes to show how much I paid attention...

Anyway, thought I'd share some pix for reference, and hope they help some folks for reference. I also included a picture of the luggage compartment door being lifted to show the spare tire -- I guess if you have the spare, they have to install TWO shocks/lifters instead of just ONE when you don't order the spare tire option.

Cheers,
-Tony

There is a hole, on both sides, to simply drop in the hook.

Oh okay. I don't have the luggage compartment package but basically it sounds like I need to get my hands on these hooks and then I can use my cargo net.

Thank you for the help!

Anyone knows whether this is the flexnet part number 51477332111 and whether it will fit G05s without the luggage compartment package?

If you look at the pictures closely, you will see that the net seems to come with some kind of attachments that fit into the holes at the top next to rear seat release levers.

Thanks man! You're right.

I couldn't really tell as it gets a bit pixelated when I zoom in but now that you mention it, I see the hooks.

I tested my existing net a short while ago and it's the perfect size. Should be easy enough to rig some hooks to it.

A close up photo of the top hooks would be nice.

It would but a good alternative (tried it out myself) is the s-biner

I had a few extra Nite Ize ones lying around and they do the job well. I might get some smaller ones with a 10lb rating as the 25lb ones are a bit bigger but the look clean, install easy, and most importantly I don't have to get a new net

I wonder if those side covers with small nets fit in the cargo area with no luggage compartment package. Does anyone know?

Second part to your question, where do you get the net and hardware?

These are the options I came across for the side cargo nets:
-Rear Cover P/N 51-47-7-479-782
-Storage Net Storage Comp.Lug 51409947 P/N 51-47-9-471-112
The second option is for the X3 but it indicates that it fits the G05 X5

Is there any type of net that goes above the middle row of seats that stops something from flying out of the boot space and into the middle row of seats?

My g31 5 series touring had this as standard but it would need hooks on the ceiling roof about the headrest to clip into

This works great on my 45e. (35x16). Loops connect to the hidden hooks on both side of the luggage area, supplied hooks attach to the lower rings.
