Would be nice if we could come together globally on testing and standards so we dont have to reinvent the wheel so frequently! I am confident eyes globally respond to glare in the same way. Get the right five people in a room or on a call and we could save years of delay and expense.

Saw these 3 built in Canada March 10th with no laser lights. Only way to not have laser lights is if you get the low-end basic package which I don’t think these have. Unless I’m missing something.?

They are all built in the US. However, some are indicated as built for Canada export. I am not sure what conclusion you're drawing from what you've quoted as not every buyer specifies laser lights for the car; LED's are the default. In any case, here's a Canada car with laser lights built today:

It's odd because the second link on Bubbaheads post is an M Sport with I believe has either the Premium or Excellence package (Canadian pkg) which should come with Laser Lights. In that order it looks like the Laser Lights were excluded. So maybe this shortage of Laser Lights is resolved if the latest Canadian car has them.

You can order M Sport with no premium package at all (and therefore no laser lights). Bit of an odd build in my opinion, but to each his own. If my CA is right, could also be that people are opting to delete them from premium enhanced or excellence. My guess however is that these are M Sports with no premium package to begin with.

Well I am glad I have mine, idgaf about the credit back. These lights are great compared to anything I have driven, just in case your wondering I work in automotive with 17 franchises including luxury high line. These lights rock!

Yea, there is no down side with getting Laser lights. They are cutting edge lighting even in their reduced programming. There isn’t a alternative lighting system by another manufacturer that is better.
Sure we all want full euro spec performance but its like hearing a Mustang owner complaining your McLaren can only go 217mph instead of 221mph as reported.

Are you sure those of us outside the US who order 5AZ will actually have "full euro spec"? So far there are no reports of working cornering lights anywhere in the world. I'm not confusing cornering with euro spec adaptive/brightness but simply pointing out BMW US stating because of nobbling "euro spec" cornering lights don't work. So does that mean full function nobbled everywhere in the world? Or is this logic flawed?

I've asked those with 5AZ to try and determine if their lights behave like the ones in the various BMW videos. No conclusive responses. I won't be able to do my own testing for another six weeks or so but will surely do a bunch of testing.

I ordered my X5 on 6 Jan and I am expecting it end of March (to Vancouver, BC) so I don't think 2-3 months is a long time at all!

I notice a lot of Canadian built cars on the decoder.com site do not have laser lights. I’ve probably only seen 5 with laser lights out 50 builds. I think unless you had it in your order before the ‘laser stop order’, you will get it. Many without laser I assume could be dealer inventory builds

As I mentioned in an earlier post, my CA said there was never a stop sale, just the option of a $1000 credit to delete them from packages that normally include them. I saw this option on his order screen this morning, so sounds legit. I don't have a VIN yet obviously, but estimating 45 days to arrival.

That makes sense! A lot of people don't see laser lights as a necessity and they save $1k or put to something else.

Same. I finalized my order last Monday for a March build with May delivery and was told by the dealer that the laser lights weren't going to be a problem. Only difference was that there is now an option for a delete with a $1000 credit. I specifically mentioned the whole "laser light" issue and made them confirm before I finalized the order.
