so my software is from 12-18 i think maybe 37 and the dealer has been calling wanting to update my software due to a recall. A lot of things dont work on the car but i have grown accustomed to the faults. Should i let them update or wait a few months. I have zero trust in bmw when it comes to software.

I think you should be updated. It seems like the recent releases have taken care of previous issues and arguably have not introduced any new ones.

Ok Thanks Turtleboy..Do you know if the new updates take away my low speed stop and go? I thought i had read that the new software took something away with the auto braking when using cruise control.

I'm on 07/2019.70 and the low speed stop and go is still there. I can't stand when you're putting into a parking spot and are trying to slowly pull up as to not hit a pole at the front, or in your garage and not trying to hit the wall. It turns off, which to me...is stupid.

Mine does auto braking on cruise control, at least when I am using the assisted driving mode. Not suer if that is what you're referring to? All in all, 07/2019.70 is pretty good and stable. There are a few minor bugs, but definitely better than any of the previous versions I had. I would definitely get it updated, since there was some talk on here about having 07/2019.xx in order to be ready for remote software updates.

As mentioned, the new updates should not take anything away in regards to the Driver Assist systems. I don't remember reading any posts regarding that so can't address any specifics.

You should see some enhancements from your current version in regards to the vehicle accelerating a little faster from a stop in traffic as well as the auto lane change working quicker.

I know what you're referring to, what the update changes is that you don't have to hit the gas pedal to resume cruise during low or high speed ACC for up to 20 or so seconds. Before I believe you had to tap the gas every time after a couple seconds, the rules got more relaxed in the July update.

No, even 3/2019.45 didn't require tapping the gas pedal ... as long as you were paying attention forward per attention camera.

Interesting, I had the car for a week on 03 before I got the upgrade to 07 so you're probably right. I do remember something in the release notes referring to a change though.

For me it stopped for unlimited time and never required input to start driving again on 03, and on 07 it requires gaspedal input after extended stopping time...I don't like it

Can someone with istep 11/2019.XX tell me of the climate rules work using remote start, or if they still only get applied once you physically press the start button?

Picked up new 2020 X5 last Saturday and the software is showing 07/2019.53 is that the current one? My connected drive does not work with my Apple Phone its showing the car at the dealer lot 250 miles away on October 29, 2019

None of the connected drive items on the phone work. BMW has not called me back and my email to them unresolved.

I'm in the US, and have 07/2019.70, but there is a newer update. When I spoke with my SA, he said there was a new update...taking it in the week of Christmas for the update. He and I both hope we get RSU before that. I need to get some other work complete, so it will be in one way or the other.

I would ask. It can take a few hours or a day or more depending on how many devices that have to update and other factors. I assume they’d want to get it in and out of the shop, so I would specify. If they ask why, just tell the, you’re having phone connectivity issues.

Went in to the dealer for a software update today and came out with 11/2019.34. So far, so good - remote 3D view, remote start, drive recorder, etc. all working.

As the software update overrode my prior coding, I went back in and re-coded ASS using bimmercode beta which worked perfectly and didn't break any of the connected drive stuff. One thing to note, I remembered more of the ECUs being available last time I went in to code ASS, which was the only ECU available this go around.
