I can’t find and/or get the code to link up Connected Drive. It’s not in my messages? Can any one help?

Had same problem, call ur car salesperson and ask to activate electronic sales agreement, once they do it ur app connects to ur car without having to enter a code in ur car (I couldn't even find a place to enter the code)

Same exact problem... see image below. Can't find the Activation "code" described on my iPhone screenshot anywhere in iDrive7. ESA is activated according to my CA who did a test SOS call to check, while I was taking delivery...

I resent the code multiple times. It's not in iDrive 7's "Notifications" - which is the only place I can find that inbound communications might be received..

Guys, I got this problem solved. I did the remote update within the Application menu and let the car does the software upgrade.
After few minutes, an icon called BMW Message appears, and go back to resend code within the ConnectedDrive app on the phone then the code will appear on iDrive.
Here is how I solved it, for those who might need.
By the way, I did that after called salesperson to ensure the ConnectedDrive is enabled at BMW side.

Was this for the primary or secondary driver profile?

I already see BMW messages, but that made no difference when logged in by the secondary driver profile that is not recorded in my ESA.

Can you be more specific? Where is the remote update option found? Phone App or vehicle/iDrive? What is the path to get to this option?

Ok figured out part of denetliu's solve. I found another iDrive navigation capability. Press down and hold the controller. Do that on certain screens and context menus pop-up/appear. So...

- I pressed the Apps button (Globe icon - lower button at 12:00 over the iDrive controller)
- When you get to the Apps screen, you may need to move the iDrive controller to the left to see the "Installed Apps" menu item.
- With the Installed Apps menu item highlighted (see first picture) - press and hold down the iDrive controller.
- Doing so will give you the option to "Update Apps and Services". (see second picture).
- Select Update Apps and Services

Once the update completes, I received a popup note that I had new items in Data Privacy to enable/approve.

So I went to (from the home screen) Car > Settings > General Settings > Data Privacy and checked "Agree and Activate All"

I then went to "Configure Services" from that same screen and noticed "3D Remote View" was now available as an option. It had NOT been before. (see third image)

This is as far as I've gotten. When I ask the Connected App to re-send the verification code, I get no code sent to vehicle that I can find - and I do not see an icon "BMW messages as described by denetliu

Helpful, thank you. I think we get different options here is the US. You appear to be located Taiwan.

Anyone in North America see the "Messages App"? My guess is we do not get it here - hence the issue with owners not being able to self-verify via a code sent to their X5. Below is what I see on my Apps... not sure how to add more (yet).

I was finally able to get the Connect App on my phone to work by dialing 844-443-6487 and following the prompts to get support with Connected Drive. Person on the other end manually connected my X5 to the app.

Supposedly anyone that updated their iDrive to a neeert version such as .43 lost all their apps. I am still on .23 and I still have them. I also cannot do an over the air update as BMW has restricted that...a genius even tried and was unsuccessful. I would have to schedule a service appointment.

Don't want to update now anyway...will wait until more of these issues get resolved with future updates.

Good intel - thank you. I was thinking that may be the case - I don't have the weather widget for example. Seems like the software variants that are out there have their pros and cons but none seem to be an improvement.

To repeat my earlier post, I have .43 and have all the apps shown in the photos in post #13.

I have tried various OTPs, but never got an indication they were successful including one such attempt today with the dealer IT guy.

My primary software problem is with the ApplePay distraction when my iPX is in the charging cradle.

Sorry .. didn't realize you were able to recover your apps at the .43 version. That is encouraging.
