I love both color, I just wish to see more.

Looks like the instrument cluster is about the same as G05

I'm still to much on the performance side of driving to give up the button downed suspension.

It's totally effortless driving in true M cars and there is just no compromise for me.
Or switch back to sedan? It's still a SUV still has inherently higher center of gravity/heavier etc

Like minds thing alike, expect I'll take a stage II tuned F93 ZCP in lieu of a CS, especially with SMB now a standard color for MY2020— top down coastal weather 12 months a year. Agreed that a F80/82/83 needs to be paired with a F85/F95.

Is the blue X5M competition color SMB? Killer color!!
Pair it with bicolor M seats.

The red X5 competition might be Toronto Red metallic? Instagram filters affecting the true color.

Should also expect Donington Grey metallic to carry over, as the X3M/X4M has this option.

Suspect some markets will only have competition, such as the U.K. market only the X3M/X4M competition is available; no standard X3M/X4M.

I agree, probability pre-production units rolling off the line. Such a shame these all get destroyed prior to market launch.

In my collection of cars, it will probably ride too stiff for what I use a luxury/performance SUV for. I do dig the rear end. From the pics, it seems to work. I will certainly be driving one for a final decision.
they were posted to Instagram so whoever put them up probably used a filter sadly

I wouldn't say destroyed though. These are very good tease photos. You don't see the full details but you see enough to be hyped about it

Enormous grilles designed to make F85 (and other models) look outdated. It Sits too high (I see 5" gap at least). The wheels look like shit. It says "Competition"....really? Isn't every M car designed for competition?

Other than that I like it lol

It's true, BMW manufacturers over 100 pre-production vehicles for a upcoming new model and all go to the scrap yard after testing/private viewings/ad shoots. For example the F90 used to set the drift record went to the 2018 CES show after PC filming and then was destroyed.

Ah you mean physically destroyed. Yeah I agree with that. But I wouldn't pay for a demo car though

Having worked for Jaguar Land Rover's Innovation Lab, I can tell you that not all are destroyed. Other divisions of the vehicle manufacture may buy up the pre-production models to test innovation before introducing them to future models.

For instance, JLR will buy back pre-pro models for as little as $1 once they are no longer needed. Then new innovation is wired up to the vehicle to test and work out bugs before applying the technology to new vehicles.

The above generally applies when a vehicle manufacture is partnering with a new tech start-up, experimenting with future innovations or out-sourcing their technologies to third-party manufacturers.
