Sounds like the EMF is what was affecting you. And your wife also! Maybe it affects you in the car because it is so confined, but not inside a house or other building.

That is a good thing to know about yourself. You might want to buy an EMF meter to carry around to avoid high EMF Spots wherever you go.

The previous post mentioned heat. Are you running the heat in the car? Could be the first time the heater had been turned on ... but it sounds to me as if you found the culprit.

My wife used to complains, she gets headache when she drive our 2017 3series .we found out the culprit is the rubber seal. The rubber seal was compromised and the air was slip through and put pressure on her ear and that gives a headache.once we replaced it's all gone.

Both the G12 and G05 have a digital dash. I found that the screen refresh from that could be effecting you. I've felt something similar when in a Merc S Class for a long period of time with their digital dash as a passenger.

If your dad is super sensitive, you probably are also. Be sure the cars you are using don’t have the BMW “air fresheners” in them. They use fragrances Cartridges, and many fragrances are highly toxic. I can’t stand them but I use essential oils and they don’t bother me, because they are “real” bio products and not some chemical soup of God knows what.
Well the Explorer mess was carbon MONoxide, not DIoxide.

No worries. It's worth bringing attention to the issue regardless of whether that second Oxygen is there.

I have tried THREE times to reply to your PM. Maybe you will get those later, but they aren’t showing up on my page. Here is my answer:

[QUOTE=CLT_X5]I envy that spare tire. I don't know why in the hell I didn't check that box when I ordered.

Yes I ordered. Last-minute decision when the car was already ordered. It was the last day to change my specs.

The little voice in my head made me do it. I’m a big believer in trusting your gut. It can be very helpful if you are willing to listen!

You are not the only one on this forum to have regrets. It is the cheapest run-flat you will ever buy. Wish I could’ve ordered four of them.

Try eBay. Maybe people are selling them on there. I do not believe you can get one from the dealer, but it is worth it to ask. Maybe they will sell you one from an on-the-lot car.

Thank you as well. No, no heat. Only A/C and windows down. But now that matter seems to have subsided, have been able to drive with A/C and windows up, thankfully.

2016 X5 xdrive same foggy/hazy feeling

We have the same issue in my 2016 X5. I bought it a few months ago with 20k miles because I wanted to see if I could handle having a smaller SUV before buying new. My husband refers to the car as the vomit comet because he and nearly every passenger get carsick. The symptoms are slightly lessened when in sport mode. I frequently find myself feeling tired and out of it while driving. We have tried using a carbon monoxide detector, but it didn't register. The dealer acted like I was insane when I mentioned it. I love the car, but I can't have a car that passengers cant ride in.

Strangely enough we didn't notice the issue in a 2019 Sdrive x5 loaner.

See if the angle or a slight distortion in the windshield glass is causing it. Does this happen with the windows down?

I don't own my car yet...... but I do know that I am very sensitive to "noise cancelling headphones"... those headphones that play opposite frequencies of outside noise to "cancel" the inside noise..

I don't understand the technology.

But... doesn't the stereo have "something" like that? That "active sound" or something?? I know Audi was doing noise-cancelling stereos a few years ago with their Bang & Olufsen stereos.

Maybe?? Just guessing here.

My X5 G05 had a moderate high level of formaldehyde above 300 ppm for first 6 months. So make sure you keep the windows opened before the level comes down.

How are you able to measure this?

Google formaldehyde meter/tester. I bought one for my house long time ago. Or you can hire an air quality test company to do a test for you.

i am taking my x5 into its first service monday and was told they had some recall issues and she mentioned they may need to replace some ducting in the air flow system. I wonder if there was an isolated problem with ducting and co2

This is due to the Air-Suspension! Sport mode will make it a bit better, but some people just never get used to it. Depending on how each manufacture tune their AS, you might have better luck with Merc, or Audi

I'm having the same issue with my car. Could you please elaborate which rubber seal you're referring to that got replace?

Weatherstrip seal were replaced. If your dealer is so adamant then try the following

1) Try apply the bmw gummi flauge on the rubber seal
2) Add another layer of "Z Shape Car Door Trim Edge Moulding Rubber Weatherstrip Seal "

Thanks for the clarification there. So when you mentioned the rubber seal was compromised for your car - what were you able to see? Just want to know what to look out for on my car.

That could be it if I have the same problem (car not built yet). I usually never open my windows when driving, but did in my Model 3 yesterday. I opened the back ones a bit and it caused some weird effect like my head was cloudy and there was pressure. Kind of like a cross between altitude change and being underwater. If the windows were fully opened, it went away. That was insanely uncomfortable.

Also recently got noise cancelling headphones for the first time. I get a very mild buzz at the highest settings on them.

I wonder if I'm getting old... damnit

This is a good point. Someone else also commented on air suspension and found the rocking motion similar to sea sickness. Formaldehyde, carbon monoxide, high-altitude cabin pressure, fake engine sound all could be cause of concerns too.
