BM3 released the CustomRom this past week and it works perfectly on the G05. I am waiting on my flex fuel kit from BM3 and should be running e50 by this weekend.

Appreciate the BM3 thread

I installed BM3 Stg 1, then 2 with catted DP on my 18 M2 and loved it. With a 22 X5, knowing its a larger pain, I've been headed towards the JB4 (had v. good experience in my N54, 2010 335i). The B58 engine is a great platform, better than the N54 and N55 & I'd love to see more X5 experiences from the locked DME through to a successful tune. I pull a small trailer in eco mode (4000lb), but generally always drive in sport because I can't stand the 1500 rpm upshifts Love these forums. Going to get some E85 this weekend and remap the M2

Just an update. Got the BM3 flex fuel kit installed. Pretty straight forward. A little more difficult then all the videos of the installs on g2xs and G3xs. Only because the airbag cover to the side of the back seat has 1 bolt holding it in and the back seat itself has a pedestal that the carpet runs up so you have to keep the out of the way.

Been running e35 for about 4 days and the logs have never looked better. I started to notice boost only hitting 17psi and BM3 says with customrom maps and a flex fuel sensor you should max 24psi.

Emailed support and they turned around an updated OTS map for me in 24 hours removing the torque limiter. Have yet to really log yet but initial drive has me believing the car is hitting high boost numbers.

Again, I want more so I am ordering a spool fx200 and pure 800 as well as some supporting bolt ons because at this point I might as well go full soccer mom race car.

Also stumbled upon a 2024 M4csl for sale that I may be pulling the trigger on this week as I feel at 152k it is reasonably priced.

Just wanted to post a picture of a log after the torque limiter removed. Timing on e37 has been almost flawless and boost is consistently in the 20-21 range. The car is honestly ridiculous. I raced a friend in his stock x5 m50i and and from a 40 roll I had about 3 car lengths on him at 100. I honestly think the car will keep up with my C8 from 40/60-120. Turbo, HPFP and Paul Johnson tune I am thinking car should sit in the high 10’s but could be TCU tune dependent.

Very nice results here and great job providing such detail and various feedback! I have a 2019 X5 50i with downpipes, I bet the BM3 would make it RIP' illl email them :-)

My warranty just finished this month. Already have the DP so might be time to give it some BM3 love!

I don’t, I think from a dig he would get out in front of me enough that I couldn’t catch up. I should add i had 1/4 tank of fuel and he had 3/4 with a passenger so in top of being 500 lbs more dry, had another 300 lbs more with the fuel difference and human.

The 50 I tuned is a whole different beast, I’d love to see real life results. I’d imagine with the right mods and tune that 650 hp to the wheels is easily obtainable.
That’s what separates the 40i and 50i/m50i, once, the 40i gets around 500 hp to the wheels, you can only get more by start doing more serious mods like turbo and port injection

Outstanding post & feedback zgb2008, thanks for sharing!

You're right, not much info out there on tuning the X5 B58. Thinking it will by my wife's next car in the next 12-18 months. So funny how it's the base model but simple bolt ons & a tune it's a monster.

I was thinking JB4 but your posts have made me consider otherwise. No doubt I'll have parts in the garage waiting by the time we actually purchase the car... C'mon, I can't be the only one who does that? Ha!

Currently enjoying my RS3 but leaning towards M2C (if it gets AWD) in a few years, or debating modifying a M240i or M340i with Pure 800, port injection, full bolt ons, etc...

Have the transmission shift points in Comfort been fixed yet?

I guess the alternative would be to code the car to start up in Sport.

atlas XHP transmission flash is also out now for the g05. That will likely address the transmission shift points my friend!

Flashed XHP and it made the car much more driveable in comfort and eco pro. In sport+ the shifts are incredibly quick. So far I have limited race time in the car since XHP flash, but from 60-130 I beat a 392 scat pack with bolt ons by about a car length, a 911 Carrera from a dig I took by about 3 car lengths and and f80 m3 from a 60 roll by about 2 car lengths.

Draggy is in the mail but getting hand timed 0-60 around 3.75 and quarter mile in the very low 12s teetering the 11 second mark.

zgb2008 wow, what was your fueling during these runs? Aside from a tune and xhp, what else have you done again?
