I have never seen a MF towel create a swirl. I dry my M2 with a MF towel (no leaf blower) and have never seen a swirl.

Wasn’t really saying the towel itself creates the marring. But if there’s a particle leftover and it gets dragged by the towel, it can happen. I’ve def never seen air induce marring/swirls 🤷🏻‍♂️

1. Wet wheels with hose, Used P&S Brake buster. Then let is sit for few min and used a hand microfiber mitt and woolywormitt brush to clean them. Rinsed with hose

2. Wet the whole car with garden hose and then used MJJC foam cannon with Adams Mega Foam. It turned out great !!! Let it sit for 5-6 min and Used a hand Mitt and gently wiped the foam being careful not to press too hard. Used 2 buckets of water to rinse the mitt in between to make sure no dirt is stuck on the mitt. Used 40 deg nozzle on my Greenworks pressure washer and rinsed the whole car thoroughly.

3. Used the Rag Company Liquid8 drying towel and I was amazed how much it sucked the water off. I gently laid it on the panel and just dragged it without putting any pressure and it wiped it clean without any streaks. I was able to wipe the whole car with just one towel. I used a separate drying towel to wipe the side skirts as it was too low to the ground and didn’t want my large towel to pick up any dirt on the ground.

4. Used Griots Speed shine and used rag company clean microfiber towels to apply them. They turned out great and the shine was amazing and just like when I first got the car.

I’ve been lazy in the past about washing car and just used the laser washes but I couldn’t believe the difference between the two. There were zero water spots or run offs. If time permits I hope to hand wash my car Atleast once or twice a month and use the touchless as little as possible.

Anyone is on the fence about washing their car, just do it. It looks daunting but once u get the steps right, it’s very simple. Just need the right tools and give urself enough time. Cheers
Beautiful car looks great! That color is 🔥

MF towels absolutely, 100% can leave swirls. There are various different levels of quality, plus if the towel is not brand new there will be residual dirt in it that may swirl the paint.

I've gone thru all the various levels of quality with MF towels and settled on using the yellow ones from Costco (most high end detail shops use these). Only brand new ones touch the paint and then they get downgraded to glass, then interior, then wheels, and finally household cleaning as they slowly get dirtier over their lifespan. Machine washing the towels only removes so much, even with a strong detergent on hot.

Car looks fantastic. I'm so lucky that I don't have to go through all this jazz. My car never gets actually dirty, and I live like 1 mile from the car wash, so I manually wash it there, drive it home and use a terrycloth towel to dry it off. My wheels are a bit of a pain because I like them ultra clean, and they have lots of hidden areas, and with CCB I can no longer blow them off with the leaf blower, but it's all good.

Thank you. As much as I have enjoyed washing this car, it still takes a significant amount of time away from time with family and I feel guilty spending that much time on the car and not on my family. Every weekend I debate to wash the car, my kids start complaining...lol. Maybe this wknd Ill do another wash. You are 100% correct about the wheels. A royal pain in the butt..lol

I use the Ego too. But I notice tons of tiny water bubbles and I have to go over with a microfiber drying towel after.
