Yeah this car is kind of stupid I’m starting to want my 2020 back.
Thank you though. That’s really cool!

Yup, and I’m thinking of bailing on the LCI and picking up a new ‘23 X5 M50i that pretty much meets my spec and at a substantial discount. Pretty sure I could get my $1500 deposit back. Would have to travel to get it but I’m retired and got plenty of time for a road-trip home. We will see how things sort out in the coming week. I’m not the most patient man.

Took delivery last Wednesday and have this issue. Dealer said they got acknowledgement Saturday from BMW that they are working on a software fix.

Did they confirm it is software not a hardware issue?

He said they are working on identifying a fix and it should come via software update, but who knows at this point if they don’t know what the root cause is.

I understand that. I wish I could return mine and do that. I would gladly sacrifice iDrive 8

Any updates from dealers on how long before the issue is resolved, and we can take delivery?

Just heard from my dealer confirming the recall/stop sale on my M60i. Not much info yet. Doesn’t know timing or if it’s software or hardware related. Frustrating to say the least. I’m on standby.

Frustrating, I have a call into mine but have not heard back. It's going to be at least a couple weeks if not longer. Maybe I will look at inventory and see what's out there.

As of this morning BMW has no idea what the issue is and no remedy.
My thought is that this is the first batch with the 8.5 Idrive that is causing some kind of glitch. Just a thought!

Just heard from the dealer, it is the highway assistant, and it is affecting several models built during that time frame. I also have iDrive 8 not 8.5 (7/28 PROD DATE).

No remedy and no confirmation if it's hardware or software or both. Just have to wait, he said the last one was about 7 days before they had a remedy.

Then that defeats my train of thought. Then that makes me think it might be hardware related but who knows. My SA mentioned that these could take up to a couple of weeks.

Been following along. Mine, M60i, 7/24 production 8/2 delivery. VIN on german site shows no open recalls. As I've posted elsewhere, my BMW Nav wasn't loading from delivery and I only noticed it maybe a couple hours drive away from the dealership. Drive assist was available at that point, but DA plus was not.

I took mine back to dealer service on 8/5 where they did a service center reset of ID 8 on mine. I had a 3 hour drive back home on DA plus available roads and it worked great. I just took mine out for a drive after reading this thread for the last couple days... Drive assist (no plus) worked just fine, the closest DA plus roads were at least 20 miles away so I didn't go that far out of my way to test it out but Nav did show me they were available (w/ the green highlights).

Just one owner's experience in this production window. My Nav issue from delivery explained mine (ID 8). Not sure how 8.5 might be compounding the issue/solution but others have stated they're on 8.0 and having the issue. No clue, but my assist *plus* was functioning more than a week ago, but only after I got my BMW Nav not loading issue sorted.

To all those affected, best wishes it gets sorted soon.

Good news, it's the plus that's impacted.

According so VIN check on German webpage I as well have a Stop Sale.

Could there be a relation to the new Head Unit. Wasn't the rollout:

Pre LCI: Head Unit 4
LCI: March - July: Head Unit 4+
LCI: July -> Head Unit 5

No, all LCI has Head Unit 5 from SOP. 4+ was never used for G05

Oddly mine was built early July -

It’s in transit. Supposed to be arriving this Friday or next Monday. And no recalls on German or US website.

Do recalls show up if car is in transit? Or only once car is checked into inventory at the dealership ?
