Thank you. It’s a great car. Air suspension is standard and is really good

The PHEVs, per regulations, make some sounds at lower speeds to help let people know they're moving. THere's a speaker that does that outside, but there's also a program (app) you can get that makes some synthesized engine sounds inside if you insist. If you search, you can find some comments. At least a few people think it's wonderful one called it a game changer. Personally, I prefer it to just waft along, but hey...

New X5 50e M sport
Got my new 50e on Tuesday 23rd May - 415 miles in - I’m so glad to be back in an X5..!
Could have had it the previous Thursday but couldn’t get insurance as the model was not on “normal” insurance companies data basis which was a real downer - anyway all credit to Admiral Insurance who managed to get it accepted into their quote system on Monday 21st within 2 days of asking. Here’s the surprise- I had assumed a real world electric range of 15% below the quoted c62 miles (53 miles) My second full charge indicated 72 miles electric range but I appeared to get c63 miles - Bonus..! The other major upside is the superb acceleration both from stand still and from c40mph - outstanding ! Still struggling with all the apps and familiarity but I guess that will come in time. |

Question on the 50e. The 45e really struggled at freeway speeds and merging off ramps if you tried to drive it electric only. It would frequently drop into hybrid mode.
How does the 50e do with the larger electric motor? Can you drive it on a freeway and merge off ramps in battery only mode without issues where it needs ICE? |
