Are you talking about Assisted Drive View or auto-lane change? The OP is about Assisted Drive View which has only just been released (i-step 07/2019) and is i-drive 7 only.

Auto-lane change was introduced back in 2017 in the UK, but has currently gone AWOL for G05 drivers in the UK and can only be enabled via coding.

My dealer told me 2020 G05 models will be getting auto-lane change, but he also said it was additional hardware to what I had, so take that with a pinch of salt

I'm not sure why. It was in the brochure when I ordered my car but was then removed from the brochure. My car didn't arrive with it.

I contacted BMW UK and they said my car should have it, contact the dealer to fix. Dealer said no fix available but it will be available for MY2020 but requires additional hardware.

So I fixed it myself.

Fair enough. I use mine for entertainment rather than any real need . Good to show friends!

The delete of active lane change must be a UK thing. We just got a 2020 X5 and it has active lane change (USA). So maybe it can be coded.

Assisted Drive View

might be a dumb question. can we get this on older models? like 2017 F32? Does it come with an idrive update or is it only for the new models? Cheers.

This seems to be specific to G05/G07 2020 Models at this time. 2019 users are trying to break the code to get it on them.

G20

Any word if this will be available on the G20 series with updated software? I will be picking up my m340i tomorrow after having the software updated for carplay issues (and smashed window replaced) and am hopeful that this will be a part of the upgrade. She is equipped with the driving assistant professional package so I think all the hardware is there.

I'll let everyone know the answer once I get her back. Fingers crossed.

It's not been enabled for anyone that has had a software upgrade on the G05 models to date, so it doesn't look promising.

Fingers crossed though.

Just got my software updated to version 07/2019.47. It's probably the latest version but no signs of Assisted Driving thing.

Looks like we have no option than to wait for the BimmerCode App to have it cracked.

Thanks for confirming. I think 07/2019.47 is the latest version.

You have another option- code it with esys.

Just got updated to 07/2019.47 30 minutes ago, and the center of the instrument cluster (with map view off and route view on) shows the the grid and road as the video shows, but I didn't see my car, highlighted lanes, etc. It might be because of the mode I was in when trying active driving. Will have to test later. But, the instrument cluster display is definitely different.

Do you have the option to enable it in the proper menu or are you only referring to the list directions which already shows then grid? Take a picture of your sub menus and instrument cluster

This is new as of the latest software update (it used to just be a blank area, since I turn off the map view).

Just checked and I do not have the menu option to enable or disable this feature. Not sure what the point of the road/grid is in the instrument cluster.

i think it shows the view only when driving assist feature is activated

can you activate the driving assist while driving and then check if it shows the view as seen in the video

I did try activating driving assist, but got nothing in the display. I was not on a road that allowed for active driving assist plus, though, so maybe that's the issue? The videos I've seen above seem to be in that mode.

No joy- tempted to have this coded.

I'm not sure if its standard, but on mine you can replace the nav in the cic with the assisted drive display, so it's always on even when assisted drive is off.

Even if you only have it enabled when assisted drive is on you don't need plus mode, so any speed and any road will do.

It picked up on a cyclist yesterday which was pretty cool and finally something useful. I could clearly see it was tracking him and wasn't going to push him into a hedge

Hmm. Interesting. Makes me think I only got half of the feature (the non-working half!) and not the full thing with the latest update. Bizarre.
