About time BMWs finally offering frozen paints 💸 on their SAVs! It looks killer 🖤, not into the red leather, but the exterior looks sweet!

Once again, I worked incredibly hard to get BMW to offer a factory satin/matte Black finish.

A couple of years ago we had a client who was adamant about wanting frozen brilliant white. After going back and forth with the Individual team, they finally entertained the idea. It involved building the X5, shipping to Germany, painting and sending back. The cost... $15,000 and this was back in 2015.

That's cool, but that whole process is absolutely retarded. There has to be a better way. They should be able to offer any paint color here in the States 🇺🇸!

Nardo Grey is another paint color I absolutely love!

Oh yea this was way before they had even entertained offering individual paint options. This was the Individual Manufaktur team offering a solution. I'm ready for the next round of colors to be released for plant Spartanburg.

I agree, I have had many frozen paint cars and it's always been super easy to maintain and rarely looked dirty even if it was. Frozen over the metallic/gloss any day.

I never liked any of those matte finish paint jobs. Just looks like some old faded junker that never saw any love its entire life.
Try an optometrist.
Looking nice Limey! I may be coming back to the club soon

Great looking combo, love the frozen black, even if it's been done before, just love it. Only thing these X5M's need is the MSS springs to lower them otherwise it's perfect. I understand why some like the shiny paint look and why others love the matte/satin paint look. Both have their advantages and disadvantages. Overall, this is a mean looking beast, just needs to be lowered and your all set.

Was working on Frozen Black F90 M5 yesterday.
It looks mean.

The only sad parts, all those road nicks and scratches can become an eye sore.
It looks like an ash sticking to the paint.
Bad part, not fix-able without respraying.

Congrats to the OP though, it is one sick build.

Frozen, especially in black is so 2020, looks like someone's DIY Plastic Dip project.

agree on black but at the end of the day its personal preference.. combined with proper wheel colors or other esthetic attributes matte black can look killer!
i personally would do PPF stealth to achieve the matte look instead of going with frozen paint just for durability sake..

I did my first stealth recently on model X (i believe paint is called metallic gray) a bit darker than DG and i'm super happy how it turned out. Cleaning is such a breeze, way better than gloss ppf, at least it feels that way.

Definitely doing stealth on the next BMW!

I do hope BMW gave you a huge discount on you getting the car in primer gray? After all, they did skip the clear coat. I know some are foolish and actually pay extra for less.

Clearly not.

Oh, wait, that's not gonna work for you; allow me:

... there, is that better? And no need to apologize--it happens to everyone I'm told. Perhaps you can use some of the money you saved to cover your medical bills.
