Update on Network Connectivity issue. My 50e lost connectivity last week. Ran all the reset proceedures but no joy. Yesterday the Dealer had a look and at first they claimed it was working as they could see the weather. Dunno how. After some discussion they were in touch with BMW iDrive support in germany and were told it is a server issue that will be fixed sometime around August 31st. I would hope they get these details out to other Canadian iDrive 7 and iDrive 8 vehiclle owners so they don't have to spend too much time trying to figure out why Driver Assist Plus or other network related features stoped working. The dealer had several cars in for the same issue yesterday, and more were being booked in. I will probably follow up on August 31st.

As a long time BMW driver, I am constantly amazed at how out of touch BMW Canada is with their customer base. They have undoubtedly been aware of this issue for almost three weeks now and we have heard nothing from them. Would an email explaining the issue and offering a date when service will potentially be restored have been appropriate? I have received better information here on this forum than from any of their technical support team who ironically are all now based in the US.

My 2019 X5 50i has the update apps and services grayed out constantly. No matter how many resets I do. I am in Germany. My car is US Spec.
Got a message from BMW stating Vehicle is an U.S Spec vehicle in another country. The ConnectedDrive services are delivered by a SIM Card embedded within the vehicle TCU that allows vehicle to connect with all ConnectedDrive services. This SIM Card is registered for the U.S market and can be roaming at this time if eligible at your location. Please see list of eligible countries below: AustriaBelgiumCanadaCroatia (Hrvatska)Czech RepublicDenmarkFranceGermanyGuamIsraelItalyMozambi queNetherlandsNorwayMexicoPolandPortugalPuerto RicoRepublic of KoreaRomaniaSpainSwitzerlandUnited Kingdom If vehicle is located in any of those countries listed above, you may use the ConnectedDrive services. Please ensure to have the U.S version of the App in order for remote services to be operational. Please keep in mind that technology may oscillate accordantly to connectivity availability in the area. But no matter what i do it will not allow update and services to be clicked. Any ideas? |
