Went into garage now and found the car running. I was in garage earlier with keys in pocket. Only thing I can think of is I clicked it 3 times inadvertently while in pocket. I've disabled remote start (precondition menu).

That's a bit concerning! Double check that 'remote start' is turned off...if so, I'd stop by the dealer to inquire.

At any time recently did you try to remote start your X5 from the app but it failed?

One time I tried to remote start from the app and it failed. Then like 3 hours later it finally started itself... in my closed garage! Good thing I was near my garage and heard it start so I could turn it off.
