Volume Adjustment Always Dims The Display???

Hi Gang,

I can't seem to find an answer to this one, nor make the adjustment in my car.

Is there any way to program the car to NOT dim the screen while I adjust the volume??? It always shows the volume level while simultaneously dimming the screen, even when I make quick adjustments.

This drives me nuts, especially when using navigation, working through carplay, etc.

That 2 second "dimming" can seem like an eternity!

Thanks in advance ...

I could swear I saw an option to disable the pop-up for volume notifications entirely, but maybe it was a code feature. It's a bit annoying.

Yes, correct, you can do it with Bimmercode.

Ugghhhhh....

So nothing I can do manually via iDrive???

I'm assuming "no", as I can't find it in any menu...

I can't believe I have to live with this, as I have no idea how to code.

There's an option in iDrive to disable the popup messages. I can't remember exactly where to go for that but I know I've seen it. I think it's under notifications. You might try under this setting.

Thanks Mitch!

I'll give this a shot when I'm back in my car...

Keep us posted! I would like to disable gesture reminders. Do they go away over time?

you can specifically disable gesture reminders. those were entirely too annoying and I disabled them on day 1.

Thanks, I just found the option when I was browsing through options. I need to read the manual or at least cycle through every single option to see what's there, new iDrive is very detailed, but things kind of scattered all over the place.
