Where do you all put the key while driving?

My old 5 series had a convenient slot for the key next to the cup holder. Now I end up putting it in the cup holder but sometimes I need to use both cup holders and I end up putting the key on the seat. Any cool places to stick the key? Other than your pocket which sometimes slides out and drops between the seat.

Pocket here 99% and it doesn't slide out. Perhaps, it is because my pants/jeans are usually tight, lol? I feel inconvenient to take things out of my pocket once I'm sat down. Wife, in her purse 99% of the time. If I put the key fob in the cup holder, I might forget to take it when I exit the vehicle.

Lol, i guess it does deserve a thread since there are responses.

I wonder if this is finally a good use case for the little stick-on net? https://a.aliexpress.com/_mrKUj25

I always put my car key FOB in my pocket, never encountered any slipping issues but I put my shared parking access FOB for apartment building in small slot in door handle. It's very convenient to open a parking gate with remote key stored in accessible distance without the need to search. I am used to it from my previous car and miss that slot whenever I drive my friends X3.

If I'm wearing jeans, it goes into the watch fob pocket, otherwise, just in my pocket. If I didn't have comfort access, I might have to rethink this.

I bought a bmw keychain that attaches to the fob so anytime I put my key in my pocket, I clip it. Never falls out!

Key?
I mostly use the black card or phone so I don't have that issue at all.

as mentioned by another person, when i wear jeans, i put it in that small pocket on the right side. when i wear a suit, it stays in my inside pocket.

come to think of it, i don't think i've ever taken key fobs out of my pockets when driving even though my audi, benz, and nissan before that had little fob receptacles.

My wallet fits exactly in the slot next to wireless charging pad.
But isn't it less convenient to use the key, I mean it's not really much different than actually having a key since you have to pull it out, and touch the door or place it in right place in the car to start the car, just like an actual key, while Keyfob can be in your bag, pocket, etc anywhere. I just wish they did watch like key or compatibility with Galaxy Watch or Apple Watch, just tap and go, get in and start, no key, no card, no mess.

Yeah I suspect most of the commenters here never had the key fob holder so they don't know how convenient it was.

As mentioned by others

Me pocket, in in the morning, out when I get home in the evening.

Wife purse

Credit card key is more difficult have to take my credit card holder out.

Why would you take the key out of your pocket, put it in the holder, then take it again and return it into your pocket? :-) I always keep it in my pocket (actually, one time too many, the keyfob didn't like to be washed with my jeans - maybe I should have used delicate wash ;-)

Funny thing. Sometimes when I put the key in the cup holder (heat&cool), the car says it cannot detect the key and the car can not start. Meanwhile, the car is running!

I put the key in the door handle grip pocket or my pocket.

I had mine surgically implanted right beneath the skin on the right side of my abdomen...works great.

It's a bit of a "pain" to replace the battery, but well worth not having to keep up with it.
