Used x5 2020 and up purchase
Hi guys ,
Currently 2016 Lexus Rx350 owner. Used to have a bmw m235i but traded for RX. Now I want to get back to either x5 or x3 but mostly x5 with the b58 . The Lexus maintenance is just oil change and brakes as needed and I rarely visit the shop. For the x5 I plan to drive it for about 4-5 years before trading about 70k miles . My commute is 40miles daily . So should I get a 20k under mileage or a recent year near 35k mileage and keep a longer warranty. And realistic maintenance cost . Is it just spark plugs, brakes, rotor, and oil change ? What would be the best way to keep it so hopefully no major repairs are needed. I live in NYC so not much room to go aggressive. Once in a wild drive spirit and most of the time cruising. |

Just do the maintenance when called for and you should be fine. You may not need brakes but of course being in the city they will wear a bit faster. Spark plugs at 60k, cabin and air filters every few years, and brake fluid changes. YOiu can probably count a few hundred each year and of course more for spark plugs and brakes/rotors.

This is a pretty common debate of what matters more miles or time. There is no right answer as every single car will be different. I think people usually lean towards miles being more important - so getting a slightly older car with less miles might be the slight favorite here.
Bottomline Good clean car in either form will serve you well. |
