Buy a reputable aftermarket exhaust and secondary catless downpipes…..you won't regret it.

As much as the exhaust has toned down on the F95/96 can we give props to BMW for making the exhaust outlets actually real? Hearing and Vision are 2 equally important senses. I'll take a less burbley exhaust over a fake one, thats for sure.

If you look at the GLE 63 or the Audi RS...the outlets are 100% fake with the real exhaust being a cheap, thin pipe that looks it like comes out of a Russian Lada sitting recessed behind those facade outlets, not even connected to them.

I would actually be mad if I paid 130K for a super SUV that had that garbage on it. That is the definition of MB and Audi relying on their AMG and RS pedigree to sell cars and they honestly don't give a fuck anymore to settle for an exhaust that ugly on a flagship 6 figure super SUV. Its seriously infuriating. BMW is consistently making their M cars better every year and not skimping in any areas.

Has anyone sat in the GLE 63s? The interior is horrendously low quality for the price point, if you touch anything it literally creeks.

Lol! That's funny but I agree that it is loud.

That starter motor sound is definitely unique with that high pitch whine right before the engine starts.

Sorry for the thread revival - does anyone know if the exhaust changed (pre lci) throughout the years?

The exhaust on my 2020 was disappointing. I quickly ordered a full Akra kit. I’m currently looking at pulling the trigger on a new 2023 and it has the “m sport exhaust”. This is the same crappy exhaust we all had, right? Not the nice “m performance” exhaust with CF and titanium tips? Was that even an option on the F95/96s?

The exhaust is all the same for the pre lci models. lci changed the mid pipe design slightly.

I don't know if the CF/Titanium tips were an option for the pre LCI. I think though they may of been available for the 23s. They are an option though on 24 LCIs.

Planning on making a trip to a local dealer myself to check one out though I’d imagine it should sound different since the S68 is supposed to be a ground up new engine. Sounds similar (to the S63) on video so planning to do an in person trip and see.

Sounds the same, personally I think only reason they are saying it’s brand new engine is because of mild hybrid. I don’t know that is the point of mild hybrid in TT V8, as it adds zero power or torque. Literally made for smoother start/stop and being able to sit at light with engine off for longer period of time. If it was plug in hybrid, would of seen power gain until battery is depleted, this was very pointless update but I assume EPA rules made them do it.
